It is with a heavy heart that I am sharing that the salon will be closing its doors on Saturday 27th May 2023.

It is after so much soul searching that I have reached this decision.

Many of you will be aware I started a second business in 2021 which has taken off more than expected and now takes up a lot of my time. With running the two businesses I find myself in a place with little time for myself and family, which is not what I want and is not sustainable.

I have loved my salon journey but the best bit has been the wonderful people I have met and spent time with. Amongst these I have some very special cheerleaders who I cannot thank enough for the love and support they have shown me on this journey. This is what has made this decision so hard.

Now for the practical information:-

If you have a gift voucher (still in date), please get in touch and I will offer a cash refund.

If you are part way through a treatment course, all treatments within the course will still go ahead.

If you have an appointment booked in May, I look forward to seeing you and if you don't I hope to see you around.

SBB SALON UPDATE ✨

Hey everyone, I hope you are all well and taking good care of yourselves. 💆🏼‍♀️

I have a little update on the Skin, Body and Beyond salon.

I have come to a situation where I need to slow the salon down for a time, due to other work commitments. The salon will still be open and ready to treat all existing clients but unfortunately for the time being I will not be accepting any new clients.

All existing clients can message or email as usual to book your next appointment.

Happy Sunday, say it back! Today we are talking about self care. What better way to spend a Sunday than with a little TLC.

Here are some self care tips to ensure you wake up feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the world on Monday morning.

🤍Turn off your alarm
Take the opportunity to allow your body to wake up on its own. Don’t wake up too late, as it will prevent you sleeping in the night.

🤍Indulge in a good meal
I love a big traditional roast dinner on a Sunday.

🤍Pamper yourself
Sunday is the perfect time for an at home spa day. Have a bubble bath, face mask and dry brush your body.

🤍Make a list for the week ahead
Get a head start on your week by making a to do list.

🤍Go outside
Go for a brisk walk, the fresh air will clear your head and relieve you of anxiety.

🤍Take a social media break
Reconnect with your family by turning off your phone for a few hours.

3 ingredients to restore and protect the skin barrier.

We’ve all probably compromised our skins barrier at some point. Whether over exfoliating, using too many actives or harsh weather wrecks havoc. When this happens it’s so important to strip back your routine to complete basics and focus on using products with these ingredients.

🤍Ceramides - Lipid (fats) found in the upper layer of the skin. They act like a protective coat for your skin, protecting it from environmental stressors and helping to lock in moisture. Products containing ceramides help to repair the skins barrier and soothe rough, dry and sensitised skin.

🤍Linoleci Acid - perfect for skin prone to breakouts. This fatty acid is found in a variety of plant oils and it helps to strengthen the skin barrier and keep moisture locked in. It’s also stops the overproduction of oleic acid, which is linked to breakouts. So as well as nourishing the skins barrier, it can also help to reduce pimples.

🤍Niacinamide - Also known as Vitamin B3. This superstar ingredient refined the look of pores, evening skin tone and softening fine lines. It also strengthens the skins barrier and increases ceramide production, which we already know is so important for a healthy, functioning skin barrier.

This is your reminder to wear sunscreen everyday! Sunscreen is the number one anti ageing product and it’s important to wear.

🤍Choose a broad spectrum with at least SPF30
🤍Wear a generous layer 1/4 teaspoon
🤍Reapply every 3-4 hours
🤍Apply all around the ears, neck and hands
🤍Don’t rely on SPF in your face cream or makeup

Cleansing is one of the most important steps of your skincare routine. Incorrect cleansing can cause excessively oily or dry skin, breakouts and disrupt your skins barrier. I find cleansing my skin to be therapeutic and it has become a ritual for me. Here’s some tips to get your cleansing right 💫

🌱 Wash your hands before cleansing your skin. This is to ensure that all the bacteria on your hands is not transferred to your face.

🌱 Use a pH balanced cleanser, correct for your skin type. If you have oily skin, opt for a gel cleanser and if you have dry skin, opt for a cream cleanser. Listen to your skin.

🌱 Double cleanse in the evening to remove makeup, spf and pollution from your day. I like to use a balm cleanser for my first cleanse and then a cream cleanser for my second cleanse. Double cleansing results in happy, healthy skin.

🌱 Don’t rush your cleanse and use brisk movements, give yourself a massage and boost the circulation in your skin. I like each cleanse to last 60 seconds.

🌱 Be sure to remove all of the product. I like to use a warm, damp cloth.

🌱 Don’t use too hot water on your skin, as this can disrupt your skins barrier and lead to sensitivity.
