A week we’ll never forget... ❤️
Last Sunday, Richard fell approximately 12 feet from a ladder, landing heavily on his shoulder and face.
What we thought was “just” facial injuries turned out to be so much more.
He sustained:
🖤 Four fractures around his eye socket.
🖤 Blood pooling beneath his cheek.
🖤 Facial nerve damage.
🖤 A dislocated shoulder that wasn’t picked up on his initial scans, leaving him in agony for days before it finally popped back into place.
🖤 An injured elbow, extensive bruising and swelling.
Swipe through to see his journey.
Recovery has become our full-time focus.
Alongside the fantastic care from the NHS and his specialist teams, we’ve been supporting his recovery at home with:
✨ HYPO21 to gently cleanse around the eye and help maintain a clean healing environment.
✨ Celluma LED on his shoulder and elbow to support comfort and the body’s natural healing processes.
✨ Decoded collagen, plenty of protein, fluids, rest and a soft food diet to help support healing from the inside out.
Sleeping upright every night has also helped reduce swelling and made things a little more comfortable.
The best news came from the Maxillofacial team... ❤️
At this stage they’re extremely happy with how everything is healing and, for now, surgery is no longer needed unless anything changes.
That news lifted an enormous weight from all of us.
His shoulder still has a long recovery ahead, but every day we’re seeing small improvements.
To everyone who has messaged, checked in, dropped food round, offered help or simply kept us in your thoughts...
Thank you.
Your kindness has meant more than you’ll ever know.
A very special thank you to Lynne, who kindly supplied Richard with a splint for his arm when he needed it most. Your generosity won’t be forgotten.
Being self-employed means life doesn’t simply stop when something like this happens, so balancing hospital appointments, recovery and work has been incredibly challenging.
We’re taking one day at a time, celebrating every little improvement, and hoping the coming weeks bring continued healing.
From the bottom of our hearts...
Thank you. ❤️🙏
