🥰We are thrilled to announce the arrival of our very first ISL baby.

Congratulations to Semilore, who welcomed her daughter Ethel late last night. Both mum and baby are doing well, and baby Ethel arrived weighing a healthy 9lbs.

Throughout her time with us, Semilore has demonstrated outstanding dedication, professionalism, and commitment, and we are delighted to celebrate this special milestone with her.

From everyone at ISL, we wish Semilore and her family every happiness as they begin this exciting new journey together.

WE DID IT!! Finally conquered Whernside — the highest mountain in Yorkshire!

The hardest of the 3 Peaks and nearly 6 hours driving and around 5½ hours of walking
WE BLOODY DID IT!

What a day! Absolutely knackered, but feeling so proud of us. The views, the challenge, the laughs… and the fact we actually made it to the top without dying! 😂 Kyrie thanks for constantly telling me I need to get boots glad I got them maybe the day before but still… 😛

And let’s be honest, surviving both the mountain AND my driving deserves its own medal! 🤣 only tried to kill us all twice😬😬

Note to self don’t think you just need your phone and lip gloss 🤣🤣

One peak down… now who thought this was a good idea?!

🎉⛰️ THE 1 PEAK CHALLENGE BEGINS! ⛰️🎉

On 5th September, the dream team of Jo, Harvey, Kyrie & Harmony will be lacing up their walking boots and taking on the first mountain in their 1 Peak Challenge...

🏔️ WHERNSIDE - 736m

That's right, Yorkshire's highest of the Three Peaks is first on the list! 💪

Will there be breathtaking views? ✅
Will there be determination? ✅
Will there be complaints about sore legs after the first mile? Most likely... ✅😂

The challenge is officially on, and whilst some members of the team think they are seasoned mountain goats, others may be questioning their life choices halfway up the hill! 🐐🤣

We'll be swapping comfy sofas for steep climbs, snacks for survival fuel, and lifts for leg power. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️⛰️

Please cheer us on as we begin our adventure and see if we can conquer Whernside without:
❌ Getting lost
❌ Falling out over whose idea this was
❌ Stopping at every opportunity for a photo
❌ Turning back when the incline starts getting serious 😂

Learning, laughter, and good company are at the heart of Connect Into Care. During the summer holidays, we took a trip to East Park last week, where we enjoyed the fresh air, stayed cool, and had lots of fun together. It's always great to get out, try new things, and make lasting memories. 🌳☀️💙

Throughout the week at Connect, we’ve had an amazing time building friendships, boosting confidence, and making lasting memories. 🎤💙

From fun karaoke sessions to spending time together, everyone has had the opportunity to socialise, work as a team, develop independence, and freely express themselves in a supportive and welcoming environment.

It’s been wonderful to see everyone encouraging one another, stepping out of their comfort zones, and celebrating what makes each person unique. Here’s to another fantastic week full of laughter, connection, and confidence! 🌟

Something smells delicious at our ISL

Independence is about so much more than just getting things done – it's about building confidence, learning new skills, and enjoying every achievement along the way. 💙

Today our amazing member got hands-on in the kitchen, preparing ingredients, mixing up a delicious bake, and practising excellent food hygiene by washing his hands before getting started. 🧼🍪

Every step taken is another step towards greater independence, confidence, and pride. It's not just about baking – it's about making choices, following routines, developing life skills, and proving what can be achieved with the right support and encouragement.

At ISL, we celebrate every success, no matter how big or small, because these moments help create brighter, more independent futures. We're so proud of the effort, enthusiasm, and determination shown today. Keep smashing it! 🌟👏
