Sorry for the lack of posting last week!

Here’s a recap of what we’ve been upto!

We enjoyed sing a long with the amazing sam to some of our favourite songs! 🎵 🎶

Hydration trolley, which was filled with some delicious treats, such as strawberry and cream meringue, chocolate chip cookie dough, chocolate and not to forget strawberry milkshake! 🥤

We also enjoyed a trip out and a nice little dog therapy afternoon! 🐶 🐾

On Friday our lovely Evie had a very special job, bringing a little love, comfort and happiness to everyone. 🐶🏡

It’s amazing how a wagging tail, a gentle cuddle and a friendly face can brighten someone’s whole day. Some residents couldn’t stop smiling, and honestly, neither could we! 🥰

Dog therapy really is something special, sometimes the best medicine has four legs and a wagging tail. 🐾✨

☀️ Soaking up the sunshine and making the most of this beautiful weather! 🌷💛

☀️ Yesterday we took a trip to seaham! Where we enjoyed a lovely walk along the seafront, the weather was lovely lots of people enjoying being in the sunshine. We called at the bells fish and chips shop which is beautiful. Whilst walking along the sea front there was a group of motorbikes, where we were chatting to their owners. Of course we had to take some pictures especially with the Harley Davidson. ☀️we then walked along to the monument of Tommy and had some photos taken talking about what he remembered for.
The smiles laughter and interaction was lovely this gentleman really enjoyed be out especially by the seaside.

🌺 Today one of our ladies wanted to go to the Quarry tea house, where she enjoyed a drink and cake of her choice. We took some lovely photos, looked around the shop before heading back. This lady said that she’d thoroughly enjoyed herself and would like to come again 🌺

Sorry we haven’t posted for a while here is a few things we have been upto this last week.
Some of our lovely residents have enjoyed village/community walks going to local shops some of which love bargain hunting in our local charity shop.
We’ve had a trip to Dalton park which was requested at our resident and family meeting, this is something really important we hold once a month so that we can get feedback as to what outings and activities they would like to see the next month.
Of course most of them love a game of bingo. We had pamper sessions, reminiscing, crafts, music instruments, plus lunch out so been a busy week.
We would also really like to introduce and welcome on board Christie as part of our activities team on Brancepeth, she’s been taking the time to get to know everyone and is now eager to start making a difference for everyone.

Willington care village would like to say a huge thankyou to everyone who contributed to our summer fair today we honestly couldn’t do it without you all. ❤️

The weather did have an impact the wind was crazy at times we weren’t as busy as normal and we did have a few mishaps with tickets but overall we had an amazing day. 💨

Thankyou to all staff that really came together to help whether with organising, helping with stalls or fetching our lovely residents out. I’d personally also like to thank Wayne Vegas for our live entertainment thankyou so much we really do appreciate what you did. Also thankyou to Sunderland and district classic vehicle society for fetching along there lovely classic cars. I love planning and organising events it’s lovely to see all the teams come together and shows just how much support we have from the local community..

We will be drawing the raffle on Monday good luck everyone.

We will announce how much we raised money for our residents comfort funds on Monday when everything has been counted..

Wow what an absolutely amazing afternoon we have had. This afternoon we had Zante fox and friends come to visit, I can honestly say that the owner really takes the time to give the history and knowledge on each animal how he come to have each animal and shared some jokes and facts, the residents really did find this funny. The interaction towards the residents was lovely. This really was one of the best pet therapy sessions we have ever had, so much so that the residents are already asking when they coming again.
Of course the star of the show has to be Zante fox it’s not every day you get to get up close hold and cuddle a fox. If anyone is thinking of booking this in a nursing home my advice would be do it, the laughter smiles and therapy are so worth it.
