Inflammation is a word we hear often, but it doesn’t always look the way people expect.

In clinic, I see it show up in many different ways — from painful periods and endometriosis to IBS, chronic fatigue, ME, skin conditions and ongoing aches and pains.

While these conditions may seem completely unrelated, they often share common threads: a body that feels overwhelmed, exhausted, inflamed or stuck in a cycle of stress and symptoms.

Through a Traditional Chinese Medicine approach, I look at the whole picture. Sleep, digestion, energy, stress levels, circulation, lifestyle and diet all help build a picture of what’s happening beneath the surface.

Acupuncture isn’t about chasing symptoms. It’s about supporting your body’s ability to find balance and helping you feel more like yourself again.

What symptoms do you notice when your body feels overwhelmed?

These little black seeds are pure magic! I sprinkle them on everything- my veggies, fish, chicken, salads - you name it. They even sneak into my protein balls for an extra boost. Nutty, nourishing and packed with ancient wisdom, black sesame seeds are my tiny powerhouse in the kitchen.

When people think about acupuncture, they often think about the needles.

But one of the most valuable parts of any appointment happens before a single needle is used.

I spend time listening to your story, understanding your health concerns and learning about the things that may be influencing your wellbeing — from sleep and digestion to stress, energy levels and emotions.

Traditional Chinese Medicine takes a holistic approach. Alongside listening, observation plays an important role. We look at things such as your tongue, complexion, posture and overall presentation to help build a picture of what’s happening beneath the surface.

These observations, combined with detailed questions and pulse diagnosis, help guide a treatment plan that is tailored specifically to you.

If you’re showing signs of Blood Deficiency in TCM, the focus is on slowing down, nourishing the body and rebuilding your reserves gently over time. Prioritise regular meals with warm, cooked foods such as soups, stews, oats, root vegetables, leafy greens, beans, eggs and healthy fats. Try to avoid skipping meals, excessive dieting and too many cold or raw foods, as these can weaken digestion and make it harder for the body to create nourishment. Rest is equally important — late nights, overworking and constant stress can further deplete the body. Gentle movement, good sleep and taking time to properly nourish yourself can make a real difference.

The older I get, the more I realise health is often built through the small things we do every single day ✨

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we don’t just look at symptoms — we look at how your lifestyle, stress, sleep, food and daily habits are either supporting or draining your energy.

These simple habits may sound small, but over time they can make a huge difference to your digestion, hormones, sleep, energy levels and nervous system.

You don’t need to change everything overnight. Start with one gentle change and build from there.

Which one do you think your body needs most right now?

Mental health affects every part of our wellbeing, from our sleep and energy levels to our hormones, digestion and how we cope with everyday stress.

During Mental Health Awareness Week, it’s a gentle reminder to check in with yourself and those around you. Sometimes we spend so much time looking after everyone else that we forget to ask ourselves… how are you really feeling?

Acupuncture offers a calm, supportive space to slow down, breathe and allow the body and mind to reset. By helping to regulate the nervous system and restore balance within the body, many patients find treatments help them feel calmer, sleep better and cope more effectively with stress and anxiety.

You don’t have to carry everything on your own.
Be kind to yourself.

No two weeks in clinic are ever the same.

This week I’ve supported patients with stress, anxiety, eczema, chronic headaches, lower back pain, fertility and IVF support, constipation, frozen shoulder and hay fever.

One of the things I love most about acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine is that we don’t just focus on symptoms alone — we look at the whole picture. Sleep, energy, emotions, digestion, hormones, pain levels and lifestyle all give us clues about what’s happening in the body and where support is needed most.

Acupuncture is about helping the body return to balance, so you can feel calmer, stronger and more like yourself again.

If you’re struggling with your health and feeling out of balance, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Fertility journeys can be exhausting emotionally, mentally and physically…

The constant thinking.
Tracking.
Waiting.
Overanalysing every symptom.

Acupuncture gives your body and mind a chance to exhale.

By supporting balance throughout the body, treatments can help support you naturally alongside your fertility or IVF journey.

You deserve support too 🤍
