🏠 Why home testing removes the biggest barrier — booking a GP appointment

Let’s be honest… sometimes getting the appointment is harder than taking the test. 😅

Finding a suitable time. Sitting on hold. Trying to fit an appointment around work, childcare or everything else life throws at you.

For some health checks, at-home testing can make getting useful health information much more convenient.

🕐 Test in your own time
🏠 From the comfort of home
📦 Discreet delivery
🔒 Private and confidential
📋 Clear information about what your test checks

Whether you’re checking s*xual health, prostate health, HPV or Group B Strep, knowing what you’re testing for can be the first step towards knowing what to do next.

Less hassle. More convenience. More informed conversations about your health.

🧪 What does your at-home test kit actually check?

You’ve done the test… but what is it actually looking for?

Let’s make it simple 👇

🔵 PROSTATE

What it checks:
A blood test that measures PSA (prostate-specific antigen) in your blood.

Why it matters:
PSA levels can sometimes indicate prostate problems, but a raised PSA doesn’t automatically mean cancer. Your results need to be interpreted alongside your age, symptoms and medical history.

🟢 HPV

What it checks:
A sample is tested for high-risk types of human papillomavirus (HPV).

Why it matters:
Some types of HPV can increase the risk of certain cancers. HPV is extremely common and often causes no symptoms.

🟠 GBS

What it checks:
A sample is tested for Group B Streptococcus (GBS) bacteria.

Why it matters:
GBS is commonly carried without causing illness. Knowing whether GBS is present during pregnancy can help inform discussions with your maternity team about care around birth.

KNOW. DON'T GUESS.

At-home testing can give you useful information about your health — without the awkwardness of a waiting room.

🩺 Doctor Team Myth-Busting: Crash Diets vs Supported Weight Management

MYTH: “The faster I lose weight, the better.” ❌

REALITY: Crash diets can be difficult to maintain and often focus on short-term restriction rather than sustainable changes.

A medically supported approach looks at the bigger picture — your health, your goals, your lifestyle and the support you need along the way.

👨‍⚕️ Our clinical team says:
✔️ Sustainable progress > quick fixes
✔️ Good habits matter
✔️ Support can make the journey easier
✔️ Your approach should be individual to you
✔️ Weight management is about more than a number on the scales

At WebMed, our approach combines clinical support, pharmacist guidance and practical wellbeing support — because you shouldn't have to figure it all out alone.

Forget the crash. Focus on sustainable change. 💙

🍂 Acne triggers can change with the seasons

New season, new skin challenges?

As the weather changes, so can your skin. Cooler temperatures, dry air, central heating, changes in humidity and even switching up your skincare routine can all affect acne-prone skin.

A few simple things to try:

💧 Keep skin hydrated — dryness can lead to irritation.
🧴 Don’t overload your routine — more products doesn’t always mean better skin.
🧼 Cleanse gently — avoid harsh scrubbing or stripping the skin.
☀️ Keep using SPF — even when summer is over.
👀 Watch for patterns — notice when and where your breakouts happen.
👩‍⚕️ Get the right advice — persistent or troublesome acne may need more than an over-the-counter skincare routine.

And remember: acne isn't just a teenage problem. It can affect adults at any age.

Your skin changes. Your approach might need to change with it. 💙
