What a fabulous day at Moreton Show!

I had such a lovely time in the Food & Drink Theatre alongside the wonderful Susie Whitfield from Baking Workshops and Parties.

Between us we made a selection of sweet and savoury canapés, chatted all things food and baking and most importantly, had so much fun doing it!

I’ve always loved Moreton Show. There’s such a wonderful sense of community, with local farmers, producers, makers and businesses all coming together for the day, and it was very special to be a little part of it this year.

Susie runs The Cotswolds Baking Workshop from her home kitchen here in the Cotswolds, with workshops covering everything from British and American baking to macarons, afternoon tea and plenty more. If you don’t already follow her, do pop over and have a look at Baking Workshops and Parties.

It suddenly feels very real…and very exciting!

In what feels like no time at all, I’ll be setting off for five wonderful days in the French Alps with Justine from .inspires, ready to welcome our guests.

The planning has been such a lovely part of the journey, but now I find myself counting down the days until we can finally experience it all together.

Beautiful mountain views, wonderful food, local markets, relaxed evenings at the chalet and plenty of time around the table.

I honestly can’t wait!

Welcome to The Little Shop at Dereham House...

Dereham House is the name of our new home, and over the coming months you’ll be seeing lots more of it as it slowly becomes the new home of The Buttery Dish too.

This little room is one of the projects I’m most excited about.

I’m keeping the details to myself for now, but I promise it’ll all make sense before too long.

For now, I’ll just leave the rest to your imagination...

The planning for our five days in the French Alps is well underway...

There’s something I really love about this stage.

Thinking about seasonal menus, making lists and imagining everyone gathered around the table in our beautiful chalet!

It’s all part of creating an experience that feels relaxed, welcoming and completely unhurried. It’s not just about deciding what we’ll eat. It’s about thinking about how each day will feel.

September is getting closer, and I honestly can’t wait to share it with you.

I’ve always dreamed of having a walled garden.

There’s just something so special about being surrounded by old walls...it feels peaceful, private and like our own little corner of the world. I don’t think I can explain it any better than that.

I already know it’s going to become a very special part of The Buttery Dish, and I can’t wait to welcome you into our home and garden very soon.

We call this our Secret Garden...

It’s behind an old gate and is one of those places you’d never know existed unless someone showed you!

It’s peaceful, beautifully hidden and full of little reminders of the house’s past.

The large arched window was once the original front door to the house, and if you look carefully, you can still see the old stone steps in amongst the plants where visitors would once have arrived from their horse and carts!

I love imagining all the stories this house could tell.

One of the loveliest things about moving here has been getting to know the village.

Beautiful old cottages, the duck pond and quiet little streets. It’s peaceful in the best possible way.

The Buttery Dish has always been about bringing people together, and I already have a feeling this wonderful little village is going to become part of that story too.

I can’t wait to share more of it with you.
