Ever had your body tell you to slow down before you noticed yourself? These past few weeks have been a masterclass in slowing down.
I’ve been juggling a lot, teaching spin classes, working, preparing for surgery, and packing to move home again in under three weeks. And like so many of us who pride ourselves on being resilient, I hadn’t tuned in to how much I was really holding.
Until my body made it clear.
A panic attack hit me before teaching spin class last week. I couldn’t go ahead. I couldn’t power through it and for someone who’s enjoyed physical endurance activities, that was confronting.
Three days later, I was in hospital for the planned gallbladder removal and hernia repair and true to form, after a broken night's sleep, I'm up pacing the ward and writing lists on top of lists, detailing my moving home plans. But if I’m being really honest, that’s my old pattern kicking in, needing to prove I’m strong by doing, not being.
But in this space, this stillness, I’m learning something else:
* STRENGTH isn’t always loud.
* RESILIENCE isn’t always about pushing forward.
* LEADERSHIP can also look like resting, listening, and being radically honest with yourself.
I’ve been journaling the last couple of days in hospital, and the phrase that keeps coming up is:
✨ The Quiet Triumph.
Because that’s what this is.
Not a comeback, not a bounce-back, not a performance.
But a deeper kind of strength, the kind that comes when we stop trying to impress and start trying to heal.
If this resonates with you, I see you. Let’s keep walking this kind of strength together. 💛
