I just want to say a massive wow to my team !!
Yesterday, during the extreme heat, they never failed to step up in difficult situations. EVERYONE pulled together to support our clients and ease the pressure on their colleagues, demonstrating exactly what teamwork and compassionate care look like.
Lou Lou , who manages Windsor, went above and beyond during her break, running around sourcing ice cubes, ice creams, and extra treats for her service users. With their permission, she made sure they had everything they needed to stay comfortable, and they were incredibly grateful for her kindness.
Jo stepped up too, making milkshakes for service users to help them keep cool and hydrated during the hot weather she even offered to do a double shift to watch the football with one of our young adults .
Mdavi made the most of her time during a cleaning call ๐คชby preparing delicious homemade meals, ensuring her service users were well looked after and had something nourishing to enjoy.
Despite the heat and her childrenโs school closing early, Kelly was determined to make sure her service user had everything he needed. She then arranged to take him to his parentsโ home so he could spend the afternoon somewhere more comfortable, rather than being alone in a hot and stressful flat.
We also saw an incredible example of dedication from a member of our Slough team, who supports a husband and wife. With the wife sadly in hospital, our staff member carefully organised her day to ensure our client attended his early morning doctorโs appointment before accompanying him to the hospital so the couple could spend valuable time together. She didnโt stop thereโshe continued to provide her exceptional standard of care while visiting him in hospital, making sure she received those important personal touches and reassurance that can make such a difference. We know how hard nurses and hospital staff work, and we wanted to ensure our client didnโt go without the extra support and companionship she relies on and deserves.
When one of our carers needed time away because her daughter was unwell, the Windsor team once again stepped up, covering the shift despite already working their own busy schedules. The staff member was extremely grateful for the support.
Days like yesterday remind me how lucky we are to have such a caring, dedicated, and selfless team. Time and again, you showed compassion, flexibility, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of the people we support. Whether it was keeping clients cool and comfortable, preparing meals, arranging transport, providing companionship, or supporting colleagues in times of need, every act of kindness made a difference๐
Every staff member mentioned has been recognised and rewarded for going above and beyond, and each one thoroughly deserves that recognition.
Thank you all for everything you do. I am incredibly proud of every one of you Laura cares Windsor and grateful to work alongside such an outstanding team๐
