🎀 **Breast Screening Saves Lives** 🎀

The NHS Breast Screening Team will be based at Peterlee Community Hospital, O'Neill Drive, from August 2026 to April 2027.

If you receive an invitation for breast screening, please make every effort to attend your appointment. Breast screening can detect changes before they can be seen or felt, helping to identify breast cancer at an early stage when treatment is often more effective.

✅ Save the date when your invitation arrives
✅ Attend your appointment
✅ Contact the screening team if your appointment is not convenient – they can help arrange an alternative date

Breast screening is offered routinely to eligible women and plays an important role in maintaining your health.

For more information or to rearrange an appointment, please contact the Breast Screening Team using the details on the poster.

Please help us spread the word by sharing this post with friends and family who may be eligible for screening.

💜 **Carers Week 2026 | 8th – 14th June** 💜

This week, we celebrate and recognise the incredible contribution of carers across our communities.

Carers provide vital support to family members, friends, and loved ones, often balancing caring responsibilities alongside work, family life, and their own wellbeing. Their compassion, dedication, and resilience make a huge difference every day.

During Carers Week, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to all carers. Your commitment does not go unnoticed, and we appreciate everything you do.

Let's take this opportunity to raise awareness, show our support, and ensure carers receive the recognition and help they deserve.

🇬🇧 Armed Forces & Veterans Community Event 🇬🇧

📍 Wheatley Hill Site
📅 Wednesday 17th June
⏰ 2pm–4pm

Join our SPLW team for an informal drop-in event dedicated to supporting our Armed Forces community.

Whether you're currently serving, a veteran, a family member, looking for support, or simply want to learn more about the services available, we'd love to see you there.

Meet local organisations, get advice and information, enjoy a coffee and a biscuit, and discover the support available in your community.

Everyone is welcome – you do not need to be a patient at the practice to attend.

Please share to help us reach those who may benefit. 💙

We invite you to join us to support for our armed forces and veterans. Whether you are a current serving member, a veteran seeking support for yourself or a family member, interested in learning more about available services, or simply wish to show your support, we would be delighted to have you join us. Drop in to our Wheatley Hill GP practice on Wednesday, June 17th, from 2-4 pm to meet with representatives from various organisations who will be present to offer guidance and information regarding their services. This event is open to all individuals, regardless of patient status. We encourage you to attend, enjoy a coffee and a biscuit, and discover the resources available through your local community services.
