Did you know that in traditional Chinese medicine anxiety is seen as a systemic imbalance, it’s not seen as a psychological issue.

In fact they see anxiety as potentially having 5 different pattern imbalances. You could be experiencing several. Typically anxiety and worry are linked with the Spleen meridian, but any of the body’s meridians can show anxiety when imbalanced.

Many of us know how anxiety feels, the fear, panic…however it can manifest in so many more ways than those I’ve just written. It can show in ways that you may not even think could be anxiety.
There’s a feeling of a lump stuck in your throat.
Feelings on your skin like sunburn/ tingling when you haven’t been in the sun, particularly on the head, face and lips.
You may feel frustrated, be easily triggered or have
Jaw pain or grind your teeth.
You may not be able to take a satisfying breath or feel pressure in the chest.
You may want to Isolate yourself.
Chronic cold feet and lower limbs can be a sign of anxiety as can a lower back ache
Sweating at random times of the day
Talking to yourself.
Feeling exhausted but unable to switch your mind off.
Having a rigid need for control…perfectionism.

As you can see it’s not a comprehensive list but there are many there that you may not link with anxiety.
When emotions are suppressed like stress and frustration the energy gets trapped and then manifests itself in any of the above symptoms. It highlights we all can experience anxiety differently.

So being able to feel and express your emotions is very important. Body work can help in releasing those feelings. Quite often when we have body work, you realise what feeling good can actually be like. We get so used to our symptoms we don’t realise what’s happening to us.
Take some time today to check in with how you’re feeling and when you’re next in the cabin, share with me how you feel. It can really help me be more precise with your treatment.

I often talk about Qi Reflexology not always being enough If you really want to enhance your health. Sure it can be amazing at supporting health issues and letting them go completely sometimes. But if we want a truly holistic approach, we need to consider adding more to our lives to enhance our wellbeing. The eight branches of TCM fit this exactly ☯️ all of these are a true pathway to healing, our bodies want to heal, give them a helping hand ☯️

You don’t have to tell me your story for me to be able to read it in your feet 👣 In traditional Chinese medicine every meridian carries an emotion and I can interpret what your feet are saying.
Here’s what your feet may be saying,

Liver - Anger, frustration, resentment
Heart - Joy, or lack of
Spleen - worry, overthinking
Lung - grief, sadness
Kidney - fear

Of course this may not fit for everyone as the meridians hold so much more information ☯️

This week approximately 800,000 10/11 year olds took their SAT’s exams this week.
Personally I think they are not a good thing for primary aged children. They create an awful lot of unnecessary stress and pressure on these youngsters.

This young man however sailed through his this week. Harrison had a great attitude towards his exams. Fabulous support from his family, school and a couple of sessions with me and this photo is the end result of his week. He was this happy before he started too 🥰 I hope there were lots like Harrison.

With thanks to Harrison’s family for allowing the share of this fabulous photo 🧡

Why breakfast is the most important meal of the day and what it has to do with Qi Reflexology!

Eating breakfast really nourishes your digestive organs and gives you good grounding for your energy for the day. Your stomach Qi (energy) is at its strongest between 7-9 am, imagine it as a fire and feeding it fuels you for the day.

If you miss breakfast you force you body to draw on your kidney energy and drains your adrenals increasing your cortisol levels. This will end up making your body crave sugar and eventually become fatigued.

Skipping breakfast could be considered as a possible cause for weight gain. In Chinese medicine, it can contribute to causing dampness in the body. When the digestive energy is weakened from lack of nourishment, it can contribute to the body holding on to fluid (bloating) and depleting your energy.

During your consultation, I ask you how you have been feeling, and some may say, “oh I’ve been tired, can’t seem to get going in the mornings”, this could be one of the potential reasons contributing to how you feel.
I know that I need to check how your spleen and kidney meridians are functioning.

Would you realise that something as simple as eating breakfast at the optimal time for your body would make such a difference?
It’s one of the many questions that run through my mind as I plan your sessions.
So eating breakfast is a great way to support your body.
The ideal way to start your day would be;
🍵 with a cup of warm water.
🧘‍♀️ gentle stretching or Qigong
🍳 a warm breakfast between 7-9 am
☕️ coffee after you’ve eaten

Try it and you’ll be amazed at the difference ☯️
