September is finally here, yay! 🍂
For those of you like me, who struggle with heat, you’ll be glad of where we are now.
If you’re someone who always gets ill in September, let me explain why…moving around the surface of your body is what the Chinese call Wei Qi (pronounced way - chee). It’s part of your bodies immune barrier. It’s ruled by the lung meridian and it stops pathogens getting through.
The temperatures are now starting to shift quite a lot throughout the day and as we head into autumn, our lungs gets dry. That along with the temperature changes makes September a potential confluence of events.
Maybe you always catch everything that’s going around you locally, your cold may take weeks to clear. You may have sinus flares, post nasal drip, allergy flare ups. And what adds to it is the chronic stress, poor sleep, poor diet. You’ve been run down long before you even realise it.
To build up your Wei Qi you need real food, not supplements. Some real self care. A warm water with ginger first thing really strengthens your spleen/stomach meridians, a warm savoury breakfast is a great idea too. You need quality sleep. With chilly mornings and evenings wear a scarf to keep the cold out of your neck, wear socks, even to bed to protect that Kidney meridian.
You need to start protecting this energy now, enter autumn fully aware. If you’ve challenged your health through the summer, you may be chasing your health all winter. Make sure you’ve booked your Qi Reflexology appointments, give yourself the best start to the autumn season 👣
