Wishing one and all a Happy Pride month. Being able to live authentically as yourself is crucial for health and well-being. Studies show that those who face prejudice and discrimination in day to day life have worse health outcomes. The chronic stress inequality and prejudice brings leads to inflammation which impacts so many areas of health; mental health, stress management, cardiovascular health, diabetes, pain levels and so on. So may this month move us towards a time where everyone can flourish just as they are.

A wonderful feeling of serendipity! The fantastic people at Pure Temp Ltd came and fitted my swanky new aircon in my Wisbech clinic last Friday. Can’t speak highly enough of how easy they were to work with! Turned up when they said, listened to what I wanted to achieve for my patients (silent and gentle not jet plane effect), set a date, turned up, got on with it, super clean and tidy workmen and voila! Just in time for the heatwave! Almost like we planned it that way! For those who’ll miss the sound of jets taking off from my old units I’ll have a word with the RAF and see if we can’t time a flyby!

Bit worn out now! No rest for me this weekend as I left home bright and early at 6am to travel to Reading where I was a guest speaker at the Mentoring and Supervision Network conference. So lovely to be in a room with some acupuncturists and inspiring people who bring depth, heart, knowledge and experience to our profession. What a privilege to be invited to speak. I may be tired in body this evening but I’m refreshed in spirit.

Well that’s me told! It seems I’m under strict instructions from a very generous, very happy, now pain-free patient. Instructions as follows: chill the bottle, find a sunny spot in the garden, get some French cheese and a baguette and relax! Well, if you insist…..

Hoping you’ve all had a Happy Easter and are enjoying the Spring sunshine! What a treat today’s patients have had sitting in the warm sun , watching the fish swim in the pond. And for the lucky few, a glimpse of our very busy resident blue t**s. It’s been a busy few months here at the garden clinic and I’ve been as busy as our friendly nest-builders and also trying to avoid too much social media in my life! But rest assured I’m here, enjoying helping all my lovely patients. At the minute I’m taking new patient bookings for May, so if you’re thinking of getting booked in don’t leave it too long or you may need to wait a bit longer than you’d hoped. Meantime, make the most of this lovely weather to get some nourishing sunshine and enjoy yourselves! 🥰

Happy New Year! The cabin is warm and cosy; the couch is heated! The paths have been swept and gritted (must have burnt off a mince pie or two!). So let’s do this folks! Back at ya raring to go!

It’s a wrap! As I switch off the lights for 2025, the last treatment has been given and patient waved off all relaxed and ready to enjoy Christmas. It just remains for me to say a great humongous thank you to all my lovely patients from this year. It’s been a privilege to treat and support you. And I’m now shut until Monday 5th January 2026 when I will return full of festive cheer (read too much cheese and too many mince pies!) to support you on your health journeys for 2026. Meantime, remember to rest plenty, to do Christmas your way, the way that works for you and your family and not what social media or the telly tells you should be the way. And if this time of year is hard for you, be kind to yourself and remember, these days will pass. We are past the darkest day of the year, and spring really won’t be too far away.

Did you know that as a professional acupuncturist, learning cupping therapy was part of my basic training before I was let loose with needles and I’ve been integrating it into my acupuncture practice for over 15 yrs? It can be a wonderful add on to an an acupuncture session. And as always, understanding the bigger picture of how it fits in with your Chinese medicine diagnosis is key to ensuring it is both safe and effective for the individual, it’s not enough to simply know how to apply the cups. My acupuncture patients can receive this as part of their treatment session at no extra cost. However those who want cupping as a stand alone treatment can also now book in at my Wisbech clinic via my website, link in the comments.
