Back tension doesn’t always come from where you feel the pain.
A client returned tonight with some ongoing tension in his back, alongside occasional pain in his pelvis.
At his previous session, we found his transverse abdominis (TVA) was overworking and contributing to low back compression. This time, his TVA tested strong and clear, showing progress from the previous session.
With his symptoms now more specific, we found his left iliolumbar ligament was overworking for his right interosseous ligament, which was shutting down both quadratus lumborum (QL) muscles.
After a few correction rounds:
✅ Both QLs tested strong
✅ Back tension reduced by more than half
✅ Standing felt significantly easier
His homework? Just 5 minutes morning and night to help reinforce the changes.
The body is full of compensation patterns — treat the cause, not just the symptom.

Client tonight presented with ongoing low back tension; it usually comes on after a long day at work or sitting driving for a while.

Using NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT), we found his lower back was compressed, which caused many of his intrinsic core muscles to test strong. Once we decompressed the lower back, those same muscles tested weak.

The main compensation pattern identified was the transverse abdominis overworking for the multifidus. After running through the corrective pattern multiple times, he reported a noticeable reduction in tension and improved comfort.
Homework:
• Release the transverse abdominis (TVA)
• Activate the multifidus
• Continue lower back decompression exercises
