📣Your falciform ligament was your very first lifeline!

The round ligament that is now part of the falciform ligament was your original fetal umbilical vein — the vessel that carried oxygenated, nutrient-rich blood from the placenta straight to the liver.

Your belly button is a big fascial convergence point!�Multiple fascial planes meet up at your belly button:
✅Falciform ligament�✅Round ligament�✅Linea alba�✅Transversalis fascia�✅Peritoneum

The falciform ligament also contains autonomic nerve fibres, meaning tension here can influence:
❗️Visceral tone�❗️Diaphragmatic movement
❗️Posture - often creating rotations �❗️Possibly vagal signalling

It’s a small structure with a big neurological influence!

Here’s the funky part….
Through the diaphragm, the falciform ligament links into fascial chains associated with:
