JSP is Europe's leading independent manufacturer of "above the neck" Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and acknowledged leader in industrial head protection. JSP's mission is to develop quality, innovative safety products that help improve occupational safety and health worldwide. By developing products that exceed latest performance requirements whilst also improving comfort and wearer acceptan

ce, JSP enables an estimated 40 million people worldwide to protect themselves daily in their lives and workplaces. Established in 1964 with its headquarters in Oxford, England, JSP manufactures on three continents currently exporting to over 90 countries. The UK remains a core manufacturing centre where the latest lean and automated techniques are utilised. Research and development is also based in Oxford where the highest levels of investment are maintained to continue a pipeline of proprietary innovation with annual targets. Every JSP product is manufactured to conform to appropriate European, US and International performance specifications with testing carried out in our extensive BS EN IS09002 registered test laboratories. Our technical helpline and website provide a wealth of experience and information to help end users choose how to protect themselves against different applications. The new patented Filterspec which has won the 2011 Frost and Sullivan North America Product Innovation Award is such a case. Not only was it logical to integrate eye and respiratory protection into one harmonised unit, but also to enable protection in extreme environments. At -40 degrees Celsius, moisture emitting onto eyewear freezes immediately so a solution to eliminate mask leakage was needed. Filterspec’s integrated approach also enables a much improved face fit. This assists companies that must face fit test their employees with respiratory protective equipment as required now by the Health and Safety Executive.

🔊 Choosing the right hearing protection starts with understanding the noise in your working environment.

Every working environment presents different noise levels, and selecting protection that matches both exposure level and duration is critical for keeping workers safe and compliant.
Our graph shows each task's noise exposure, helping safety professionals choose the appropriate attenuation level for the job.

If the attenuation provided by an ear defender is too high, the wearer may be unable to hear warning signals and approaching vehicles, reducing situational awareness and increasing risk.
The SONIS® mounted ear defender range makes this simple with our low, medium and high attenuation options to suit varying environments, with consistent fit and seal thanks to rotating, set‑and‑forget side arms. All SONIS® mounted ear defenders are certified for compatibility with JSP helmets and visors for combined protection.

Preventing a fall or stopping a fall. Do you know the difference?

When planning work at height, choosing between work restraint and fall arrest can make a critical difference to how risks are managed on site.

Work restraint systems are designed to prevent access to a fall hazard, removing the risk of a fall altogether and should always be the first option where possible.

Fall arrest systems are used when a fall hazard cannot be avoided and are intended to limit the consequences of a fall by arresting and decelerating the user.

No Falls Week

Continuing with No Falls Week, we’re focusing on how guided type fall arrest systems are intended to function within a fall arrest setup, supporting safer access and informed selection for work at height.

Guided type fall arresters play an important role when working on ladders, towers and other vertical structures.

Designed to allow free movement during ascent and descent, a guided system locks automatically in the event of a fall, helping to arrest movement and reduce forces through an integrated shock absorber.

Understanding fall clearance is a critical part of planning safe work at height, yet it is often misunderstood or overlooked.

Calculating fall clearance correctly helps ensure there is sufficient space for a fall arrest system to function as intended, reducing the risk of secondary impact with the ground or structures below.
