LinkAble is a charity in Woking supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people to create the life they want to live. Our vision is a world where people with a learning disability, autistic people and their families are empowered and supported to live life to the full. Through weekly groups, holiday schemes and day trips for children, teens and adults, we support over 300 people a

nd their families each year. Our services offer people with additional needs access to a wide range of activities and opportunities that develop skills, confidence, and lasting friendships.

Another important hot weather update 🚨

As temperatures are not dropping, we will also be cancelling evening groups this week, and Friday groups.

This decision has been made to keep attendees and staff safe.

One week left to grab your Early Bird tickets for the LinkAble Inclusive Games! 🏅

Early Bird prices close on 30 July, after which tickets go up to £12 for adults and £7 for under-18s. As always, carers go free.

This is a day of inclusive sport for everyone. Disabled and non-disabled, all ages, all abilities — come and try Boccia, Accessible Cycling, and Walking Football at Woking Sportsbox. There's also a dedicated children's area this year, with games, picnic space and a sensory chill-out tent.

It's going to be so much fun, we want to see you there!

Important hot weather update 🚨

Due to the extreme temperature, and red warning alert, LinkAble will be cancelling some services this week to keep attendees and staff safe.

The following groups will not run this week:
- Global Explorers
- Swimming and Lego
- Boccia Club
- Wellbeing Wednesday
- Cook and Craft
- ASD Games Night
- After School Club

Please note - Evening groups, Chill Out, Camberley Club and MOP will run as usual.

We will let you know about Friday sessions closer to the time - hopefully it will be cooler then!

We've reached the last day of Learning Disability Week 2026 ✨

This week we've shared some brilliant examples of how local businesses can make Woking a more accessible place for people with a learning disability. From offering extra space to accommodate mobility and sensory needs, to table height adjusters for wheelchair users. Our community has really shown what inclusion looks like in practice.

However, every place we have celebrated this week shares one thing in common: a patient and non-judgmental approach.

For people with a learning disability, who can so often feel anxious and unwelcome, this is a game-changer. And the best thing is, it's free! So absolutely anyone can do it.

It really can be as simple as "hello" and a genuine smile 💙💚

On day six of Learning Disability Week 2026, we are continuing with our 'Do you see me?' series, where we celebrate the local places that make us feel seen, heard and valued ✨

Woking Superbowl is somewhere the adults we support love to spend time. We couldn't begin to count the number of times we have visited over the years. It's a fun and relaxed space where we feel safe to socialise while enjoying a group game.

Because Woking Superbowl has taken the time to get to know us, there are some brilliant ways they make us feel seen:
- Allocating the lanes closest to the door whenever possible, to avoid the busier, noisier parts of the venue.
- Offering a concession discount, making regular visits accessible for more of the people we support.
- A non-judgemental, patient approach — which means everyone can relax, take their time, and concentrate on having fun.

For many people with a learning disability, finding social spaces that feel genuinely safe and welcoming isn't always easy. Woking Superbowl is one of those places. Thank you for seeing us 💙💚

This week, to celebrate Learning Disability Week 2026, we've been highlighting some of the local businesses that make us feel really seen ✨

But today we want to talk about what being seen means to Mary.

Mary has been attending LinkAble for a year and a half, starting with our Boccia group and now attending our daytime groups as well. She loves a good jigsaw and having a laugh with Team Link and her friends. It's never boring when Mary is around!

We asked Mary what it means to her when places make her feel like she belongs. She told us, "Sometimes I don't feel welcome at some places I visit, which makes me feel unhappy. When I visit places that make me feel welcome, I feel very happy."

Day four of Learning Disability Week 2026 — and we are continuing with our 'Do you see me?' series, where we celebrate the local places that make us feel seen, heard and valued ✨

As part of our work supporting adults with a learning disability, we regularly visit restaurants around Woking. These outings are about much more than a meal. They are an important opportunity to build skills and confidence, and to spend time with old and new friends.

Today we want to highlight Marciano Lounge, who told us, "We want to provide an experience that everyone can enjoy. Dining out should be accessible to everyone."

This friendly and non-judgmental place has become a firm favourite for many of our evening group attendees.

Here's how Marciano Lounge makes us feel seen:
- Table height adjusters for wheelchair accessibility, so everyone can eat comfortably (we LOVE this!).
- Flexibility with food orders and great allergy options, making more dishes accessible.
- A kind and patient approach — we are never made to feel pressured or rushed, which makes a real difference to people who experience anxiety.

For Learning Disability Week 2026, we've been highlighting some of the places around Woking that make us feel really seen ✨

But today, we're focusing on what being seen means to Charlotte.

Charlotte has been a part of LinkAble for many years, attending both our children's and young people's services, and is now a happy member of our adult groups. Charlotte loves to knit and enjoys going places where she can be physically active.

We asked Charlotte what it's like to be somewhere that makes her feel welcome and understood. She told us, "It feels lovely and healthy, and I love and enjoy it lots. Being here today makes me happy."

It doesn't take much for businesses and the local community to make people with a learning disability feel welcome. But for Charlotte and all the people we support, it means everything 💙💚

On day two of Learning Disability Week 2026, we're continuing our celebration of the local spaces that make us feel seen, heard and valued ✨

Woking Library is a regular feature in our Saturday sessions for young people. It's a calm and friendly place where we can enjoy the magic of stories.

Why do we feel seen here? Because the staff are incredibly understanding of the different ways the young people we support communicate and express themselves. They go out of their way to make everyone feel comfortable and welcome, and because of this, it's a space where we feel safe.

When we tell our group that we're heading to the library, they are excited to go, and always come back smiling. This says everything!

It's here! Today marks the start of Learning Disability Week 2026 ✨

This year's theme is 'Do you see me?'. It's one that means a lot to us at LinkAble.

This week, we want to celebrate some of the brilliant places around Woking that don't just see us, they make us feel welcome, understood, and valued 💙💚

We visit Nando's regularly, as it's a firm favourite with many of our adults, especially after bowling! Over the years, we've built up a strong relationship with the staff who always make us feel so welcome, meaning we can concentrate on the bit that matters — enjoying tasty food with friends.

How do Nando's make us feel seen?
- Reserving larger tables when we visit, giving us the extra space needed to accommodate any mobility or sensory needs.
- Taking individual names when ordering, so the right meal reaches the right person quickly and easily.
- Creating a non-judgmental atmosphere by being friendly, welcoming, and most importantly, patient.

These actions might seem small, but they are not. For many people with a learning disability, being made to feel like a burden, or simply unwelcome, is far too common. But with a few simple steps, any business can completely change someone's experience.

Thank you for seeing us, and for helping make Woking a more accessible place for people with a learning disability, so everyone can enjoy a cheeky Nando's! 💙💚
