LinkAble is a charity in Woking supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people to create the life they want to live. Our vision is a world where people with a learning disability, autistic people and their families are empowered and supported to live life to the full. Through weekly groups, holiday schemes and day trips for children, teens and adults, we support over 300 people a

nd their families each year. Our services offer people with additional needs access to a wide range of activities and opportunities that develop skills, confidence, and lasting friendships.

We certainly picked a good time to start our new allotment project! 🌱

With the sun shining, we have been busy preparing beds and sowing seeds. It has been wonderful to see so many people getting stuck in and enjoying the fresh air.

Sessions run throughout the week for adults of all ages, covering gardening, horticulture skills, and woodwork. There is something for everyone — whether you are looking to learn new skills, connect with others, or simply enjoy some time outside.

None of this would be possible without the ongoing support from Krinkels UK. Thank you for helping people with a learning disability and autistic people discover the joy of gardening.

We are still on the look out for some new tablets for our work supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people. Can you help?

We use tablets every day at LinkAble, from signing in our attendees in the morning to instantly updating our records, ensuring that we always provide the best care for people now, and as their needs and preferences change.

Our current tablets have served us well, but are coming towards the end of their lives, so we are reaching out to the community for help.

What we are looking for:
- Three 10–11 inch tablets
- iOS or Android
- SIM capability

Ideally they would be brand new or refurbished donations — or if you have a tablet in great condition that you no longer need, we'd be very glad to give it a good home.

This will directly impact our service delivery and we would be very grateful if a business or individual can help. Thank you.

A few more from our recent holiday to France!

It's been brilliant hearing from everyone who came along, who enjoyed this confidence building and fun experience.

William told us: 'It was a really enjoyable experience. Going to the Palace of Versailles was a highlight for me, and having a croissant in the Pâtisserie with strawberry confiture'.

Duncan told us: 'The swimming pool was my favourite, and the meal in the French restaurant'.

For us, the best part has been seeing how relaxed and happy everyone was. Going abroad can feel daunting for people with additional needs, so being able to offer this supported holiday has certainly been a top LinkAble highlight of 2026 so far! ✨

Are you looking for some Sunday fun? 🥳

We have spaces at Sunday Play — a relaxed and social session for children with additional needs aged 5–12. You can expect a day full of games, activities, and friends!

- Location: Lower Green Community Centre, Esher
- When: Two Sundays each month, 10:15 am – 3:15 pm

You need to be registered with LinkAble to attend, but unlike our sessions in Woking, there’s no waitlist for this one. Once you’re registered, you can start the fun straight away!

As you know, the move from children's services to adult social care can feel overwhelming. So, we're applying for funding to create a new 'Transitioning to Adulthood Programme' to support your whole family through this stage — and your feedback will directly shape what we build.

A round of applause for Q8 Aviation👏👏👏

Yesterday, a team of over 50 corporate volunteers rolled up their sleeves to transform our centre, and what an incredible job they have done!

The team redecorated our whole services area, painting vibrant new colours and refreshing the walls and ceilings to create a brighter, more welcoming space. This was a huge endeavour.

Hundreds of children and young people with a learning disability and autism come through our doors each year for play, learning, and fun. Our centre sees a lot of action, and it has been in need of a proper refresh. We can't quite believe it's now done!

This work would have cost us thousands of pounds and many hours of planning. Improvements like this are often something small charities like LinkAble simply don't have the resources to prioritise, but they are vital to providing the quality environment the people we support deserve.

We can't thank you enough, Q8 Aviation. Your team as made a huge impact on LinkAble, and the children and young people who will spend time developing skills, confidence and lasting friendships in this much-loved space. 💙💚

In case you missed it — the LinkAble Allotment is open! 🌿

We have sessions running throughout the week, so there are plenty of opportunities to get involved:

- Monday & Friday — Adult Gardening Group (11am–3pm)
- Tuesday — Young Adults Gardening & Horticulture Skills, ages 18–30 (10:30am–12:30pm)
- Wednesday — Young Adults Woodwork Session, ages 18–30 (10am–12:30pm)
- Thursday — Community Gardening for Metropolitan Housing Residents (10am–12:30pm)

Therapeutic horticulture has so many brilliant benefits, from building strength and reducing anxiety, to developing new skills and boosting confidence. This is a brilliant opportunity for people with a learning disability and autistic people, and it's right here in Woking.

We are in FRANCE! 🥐✨

In an exciting step forward for LinkAble, some of our adults are enjoying an overseas holiday — something we've not done in many years!

Taking a trip like this together is fantastic for confidence building, offering new experiences and of course, so much fun! Too often, people with additional needs miss out on these important social experiences with their friends, so we couldn't be more proud to have made this happen.

We've already packed so much in, including a sunny visit to the Palace of Versailles (wow!), an afternoon swimming, an evening BBQ, and Perle wine tasting (red fruit wine) which was delicious!

Still lots more planned for this trip, so more photos coming soon! 💙💚
