💙 A huge well done to our amazing team!

This weekend they went the extra mile to make a very special day happen for Patrick, who is a massive Toy Story fan.

After contacting the cinema, they arranged a private screening so Patrick could enjoy the film with his family and support team in a calm and relaxed environment.

It's thoughtful acts like these that make such a difference and create memories that will last a lifetime.

This week is Learning Disability Week 2026, a time to celebrate the achievements, contributions and individuality of people with learning disabilities.

This year’s theme, “Do you see me?”, is a powerful reminder that great support starts with seeing the person first, not the diagnosis.

We wanted to share some of Steven's recent adventures and activities! 😊💙

Steven has had a fantastic time making memories and enjoying some of his favourite things over the past few months.

From a wonderful holiday at Ty Mawr in Wales, where he enjoyed riding on the karts and reliving childhood memories, to feeding the ducks from his beautiful lodge and visiting the famous Smallest House in Conwy, there has been plenty to smile about.

Steven has also enjoyed a holiday at Butlin's, a day out in Blackpool with staff, pottery painting, and spending time in his garden topping up the bird station for the birds and squirrels he loves watching from his bedroom window. 🐦🐿️

We love seeing Steven enjoying life, exploring new places, and spending time doing the things that make him happy. 😊

A huge well done to our amazing Learning & Development Lead Katy following some fantastic feedback from recent PRICE training sessions 👏💙

It’s wonderful to hear how supported, comfortable, and confident staff have felt throughout the training, with many highlighting how valuable the de-escalation and positive behaviour support sections were.

One piece of feedback that really stood out to us was:
✨ “The best feature was the understanding that all behaviour that challenges has a reason so I will always do my best to identify triggers so I can support the person in the best way that I can.”

Are you compassionate, caring, and passionate about supporting children with complex needs? Join the YorHealth team as a Bank Children's Complex Care Assistant and make a real difference in a young person's life.

💙 About Us

At YorHealth, we provide a nurse-led complex care service for children and adults in the community, including 24-hour care. Our Complex Care Assistants support clients at home and accompany them to nursery, school, and hospital appointments when required.

We work with children who have a range of complex health needs and are committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

👤 We're Looking For Someone Who Is:

✅ Warm, friendly, patient, and passionate about the wellbeing of young people

✅ Caring and compassionate

✅ Experienced in supporting children with epilepsy (preferred)

✅ NVQ Level 2 or above in a relevant field (desirable)

✅ Willing to travel as required (advantageous)

✅ Experienced in supporting children with complex needs (preferred)

🕒 Hours of Work

Full-time hours available

Waking nights ranging from 9.5 to 10 hours

Occasional daytime cover required

📅 Weeknight Hours: 21:30 – 07:00

📅 Weekday Hours: 09:00 – 16:00

📅 Weekend Night Hours: 21:00 – 07:00

🌟 Key Responsibilities

• Providing continuous overnight monitoring and support

• Supporting ventilation care

• Observing and recording vital signs and overall wellbeing

• Enteral feeding

Liam recently attended his local social group, The Pelican Club, where he spent time looking at some wonderful artwork in an exhibition before meeting up with friends and getting involved in some crafts. 🎨😊

It’s lovely to see Liam out in the community, socialising, being creative, and making the most of the opportunities around him.

Neil recently enjoyed a fantastic visit to Manchester Airport and the Visitor Park ✈️😊

He had a great time plane spotting, watching the aircraft, and taking in all the excitement around the airport. It’s always wonderful seeing the people we support getting out into the community, enjoying their hobbies, and creating happy memories. 💙

We absolutely love receiving these photos and updates, experiences like these are what person-centred support is all about!
