What an incredible weekend for our amazing gym family!

On Saturday, we took a team of 24 members to Reading to take part in the legendary Endure24 – a 24-hour team relay race. Through wet weather, muddy trails, tired legs, and very little sleep, our team showed exactly what our community is all about.

Together, we completed an astonishing 456 kilometres! 🤯👏

But the real achievement wasn’t the distance. It was seeing people push beyond what they thought was possible, supporting each other every step of the way, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

A huge shoutout to our fantastic team captains and Personal Trainers Matt Woods, Ray Goddard and Rich Rogers who led by example all weekend and inspired everyone around them. 👏🔥

Thirteen years ago, this all started as a dream. Our owner and Head Personal Trainer, John Thompson, was running bootcamps with just a handful of people on a field in Woodborough. Fast forward to today, and we are proud to have built a community of nearly 300 members who support, encourage, and inspire each other every day.

This is what makes us different.

Yes, we have a state-of-the-art gym facility. Yes, we offer Personal Training, Bootcamps, Yoga and Pilates. But what truly sets us apart is the personal touch, the friendships, and the incredible community we’ve built together.

Our brand-new Run Club, continues every Monday at 6pm! Next session will be Monday 11th May due to Bank Holiday ✅👍

Whether you’ve never run before or you’re looking to build confidence and improve your fitness, this session is perfect for beginners aiming to complete a 5km. After a professional warm-up, each session is designed so you can work at your own pace, no pressure, no judgment.

💡 What you’ll get:

• Expert guidance on running technique
• Tips on breathing and pacing
• Support to help you improve your times
• A structured session that suits both beginners and more experienced runners

Why The Health Club might be the place for you!

Big gyms have their place, but if you’ve ever felt like just another face in the crowd, a boutique gym like us might be exactly what you’ve been missing.

Run club is really getting going! 🏃🏼🏃🏼‍♀️

The focus right now? Learning that running isn’t just one pace. In fact, you might enjoy it a lot more when you slow things down…

Last week we kept it simple:
• Warm-up + stretches
• 3 x 10 mins with 3 mins recovery
• Each set a little quicker than the last. Starting conversational, finishing stronger.

This week we build on that:
• Warm-up + stretches
• 4 x 8 mins with 3 mins recovery
• Slightly shorter reps = chance to push the pace a bit more
• Progressively quicker each round, finishing at your fastest (if you feel good!)

And remember, if you want to hold a steady pace instead, that’s completely fine too. This is about learning what works for you.

Running can feel intimidating, especially if you think everyone else is ahead of you… but you absolutely can do this.

The most inclusive running club around.

Depending on weather, we are sometimes inside in our amazing gym, or outside on Woodborough playing field, BUT we ALWAYS train every Saturday Morning at 8.15am & 9am!!!
