Today a team from Poppy’s visited our sister site Realise Futures Growing Places in Claydon

The teams learnt from each other about how to build a planter for our outdoor area so we can get some herbs planted from our trip to Realise Futures Nowton Park Nursery

Together they sanded the wood, sawed it, drilled it together and assembled the planter

As they say… team work makes the dream work!

On Monday some of the team travelled to our sister site Realise Futures Nowton Park Nursery in Bury St.Edmunds

We had a tour of the site, gained lots of horticultural knowledge, helped out and bought back some compost so we can put our knowledge to use here in Melton!

If you’re ever out and about in Bury St.Edmunds do visit Nowton Park or their trailer next to Grounds Café Nowton Park for all your plant needs🌱

We’ve had a busy month so far!

We’ve been busy doing a wide range of work activities and developing skills in key areas.

This helps our wellbeing colleagues

- Improve Health & Wellbeing
- Gain independence
- Develop independent living and life skills
- Achieve their goals for personal development
- Take important steps towards their goals, whether this is to learn a new skill, make friends and socialise or one day gain employment

Today the team took a trip to 21 Young Hearts Cafe

They enjoyed trying the cakes, coffee, supporting a fellow Community Interest Company and seeing our friend Flo who was working there today ☺️

Bonus points as they bought back a takeaway coffee for Hattie! ☕️

Our next trip will be to support our sister enterprise Realise Futures St Lawrence Café to try their new homemade cakes… watch this space!
