Everyone's talking about fascia these days, but few people actually explain what it does.
It wraps every muscle, every organ, every nerve. One continuous web running through your whole body. When it's tight or stuck, you feel it as stiffness, restriction, sometimes pain you can't quite explain.
Breath moves fascia. Every inhale and exhale creates a subtle pull and release through this web, like a tide moving through tissue.
Slow, deep breathing hydrates fascia and helps it glide the way it's supposed to.
Shallow, stressed breathing does the opposite. It keeps fascia tight and stuck in patterns your body picked up years ago.
Breathwork works with oxygen, but it also reaches the tissue holding your whole structure together, giving it a chance to let go.
Next time you're on the mat, notice where your breath meets resistance. That's fascia talking.
