Reduced Stress, boost the Nervous System

You are allowed to rest. 🌿

And sometimes, the most powerful way to do that is through gentle movement.

If you’ve been feeling tired, overwhelmed, or stuck in that constant “on” mode, your nervous system may need support to switch off and reset.

Our Qigong & Tai Chi sessions are designed to do exactly that. ✨
Using slow, mindful movements, breathwork, and stillness, these practices help calm the body, reduce stress, and restore a sense of balance from within.

☀️✨ Yesterday's class at Wootton Methodist Church Hall was simply lovely! ✨☀️

With the sunshine streaming through the beautiful ornately arched window, we enjoyed a wonderfully rewarding and calming Qigong session. 🌞🙏

We began with 3 sets of Lotus Qigong 🌸, followed by a learning practice of Shibashi Set 1 🍃. To finish, we settled into the most chilled and peaceful experience, flowing through Shibashi Set 1 with no instructions—just a few gentle prompts to change form.

Together, we achieved a true moving meditation in every sense. 🧘‍♀️💫 The soothing gong music added an extra layer of calm, helping everyone to relax, focus, and simply be in the moment. 🎶✨

Thank you to everyone who joined and shared such a beautiful practice together. 💚

What a lovely class today at Parkside Pavilion East Cowes 💚🙏 Such a wonderful group of people, full of smiles, energy, and positivity!

Today I was asked a great question:

❓ **What's the difference between Qigong and Tai Chi?**

🌿 **Qigong** focuses on simple, gentle movements, breathing techniques, and meditation to cultivate and balance your energy (Qi). It's easy to learn and suitable for all ages and abilities.

☯️ **Tai Chi** is often described as "meditation in motion." It combines flowing sequences of movements with balance, coordination, and mindfulness. Originally developed as a martial art, it's now widely practised for health and wellbeing.

✨ In simple terms:
🟢 Qigong = working with energy through individual exercises.
🔵 Tai Chi = flowing forms and sequences that incorporate Qigong principles.

Both are wonderful for reducing stress, improving balance, increasing flexibility, and supporting overall wellbeing. 💖

Continuing our learning with a short set of Silk Reeling to begin the session 🌀 Helping everyone understand the pace and flow of Qi Gong — slow, deliberate, connected movement.

Qi Gong movements are performed slowly to bring awareness into every moment of choreography, posture and breath work 🌬️🧘‍♀️ Through focused intention and mindful movement, we explore engagement of the connective tissue, loosening of the joints, and releasing tension from the body.

These slow, flowing movements help settle and calm the central nervous system into a deeply relaxed state ✨ Perfect for stress relief, with the added bonus of a gentle, low-impact workout 💚

With a smaller class today due to the heat and holiday season, we had the opportunity for a more in-depth practice together. We focused on fine-tuning the forms that felt more challenging and learning how to slow the pace down with greater control and awareness.

It turned into a really constructive and rewarding session — proof that smaller classes can bring powerful learning moments too! Thank you all for your focus, effort, and positive energy today. 💛
