Meet the Infant Feeding Team
Karen Jordan, Infant Feeding Support Worker says "Being an Infant Feeding Support Worker is important to me because it gives me the opportunity to make a real difference to families during one of the most important times in their lives. Supporting parents with infant feeding is about much more than feeding a baby, it's about listening, reassuring, building confidence, and helping families make informed choices without judgement."
Kim Harris, Infant Feeding Support Worker says "Breastfeeding is a wonderful opportunity for mother's to bond with their baby while giving optimal nutrition, pain relief, comfort, temperature regulation and immunity"
Jodie O'Connor, Infant Feeding Support Worker says "I wanted to support families on their infant feeding journeys so that no one would feel the way I did when I was struggling to feed my own babies. I began volunteering as a Breast Buddy seven years ago, and I’ve since been fortunate enough to join this incredible team. I’m passionate about informed decision-making and empowering families to achieve their feeding goals."
Louise Langston, Clinical Services Manager, 0–19 Public Health Nursing Service says "As a Clinical Services Manager for our 0–19 Public Health Nursing Service, I see every day the dedication of our Health Visitors, Infant Feeding Team and wider colleagues who work tirelessly to help families achieve their own breastfeeding goals—whatever those goals may be. Their compassion, expertise and commitment make a real difference.
This week is also a reminder that we all have a role to play in creating a culture where breastfeeding is supported, protected and valued.
To every parent who is breastfeeding, expressing, combination feeding or navigating their own unique feeding journey—you are doing an amazing job. Be kind to yourself and remember that support is available."
We believe that all families should be able to achieve their feeding goals and we want to support you with this. Come along to our breastfeeding support groups or email us at [email protected] for support!
