Meet the Infant Feeding Team

Emilie Deering, Infant Feeding Support Worker says "I love supporting new families as they welcome a new baby and adjust to their new roles. It's often a time when we feel really vulnerable and need lots of extra support, particularly with feeding. Breastfeeding might eventually feel quite natural but it's such a steep learning curve"

Jordan Nell Smith, Infant Feeding Support Worker says "Each feeding journey is different, but there are a few things I hear regularly from mums: I wish I knew how amazing breastmilk was and what my options were with my first child, I wish somebody had been honest with me about the work it takes to get breastfeeding started and not just left me expecting it to come naturally from day one, I wish I knew positioning/ timing/ feeding cues etc before, I wish I knew it shouldn't hurt every time my baby feeds. Each journey is different, but the key concepts remain the same and we work with mothers to reach their feeding goals - that's why I do what I do, because sometimes you need someone who can confidently help you"

Malin Lindberg, Infant Feeding Support Worker says "Unfortunately, I too know how it feels when breastfeeding isn't going well and I went into feeding support to try and make sure that no one else has to feel like I did. I'm also a strong believer of feeding support being free for families. I feel so lucky to be able to provide support to anyone who needs it in this role!"

Sam Adams, Infant Feeding Support Worker says "The joy of providing a family with evidence-based feeding support and enabling them to feed their baby in the way that suits them best is why I come to work each day."

We believe that all families should be able to achieve their feeding goals and we want to support you with this. Come along to our breastfeeding support groups or email us at [email protected] for support!

Meet the Infant Feeding Team

Karen Jordan, Infant Feeding Support Worker says "Being an Infant Feeding Support Worker is important to me because it gives me the opportunity to make a real difference to families during one of the most important times in their lives. Supporting parents with infant feeding is about much more than feeding a baby, it's about listening, reassuring, building confidence, and helping families make informed choices without judgement."

Kim Harris, Infant Feeding Support Worker says "Breastfeeding is a wonderful opportunity for mother's to bond with their baby while giving optimal nutrition, pain relief, comfort, temperature regulation and immunity"

Jodie O'Connor, Infant Feeding Support Worker says "I wanted to support families on their infant feeding journeys so that no one would feel the way I did when I was struggling to feed my own babies. I began volunteering as a Breast Buddy seven years ago, and I’ve since been fortunate enough to join this incredible team. I’m passionate about informed decision-making and empowering families to achieve their feeding goals."

Louise Langston, Clinical Services Manager, 0–19 Public Health Nursing Service says "As a Clinical Services Manager for our 0–19 Public Health Nursing Service, I see every day the dedication of our Health Visitors, Infant Feeding Team and wider colleagues who work tirelessly to help families achieve their own breastfeeding goals—whatever those goals may be. Their compassion, expertise and commitment make a real difference.
This week is also a reminder that we all have a role to play in creating a culture where breastfeeding is supported, protected and valued.
To every parent who is breastfeeding, expressing, combination feeding or navigating their own unique feeding journey—you are doing an amazing job. Be kind to yourself and remember that support is available."

We believe that all families should be able to achieve their feeding goals and we want to support you with this. Come along to our breastfeeding support groups or email us at [email protected] for support!
