Doing exposure response prevention tasks in OCD therapy can feel a bit like this!

Really though it works best when we can do it with an attitude of willingness - willingness to experience the anxiety. That doesn’t mean we have to like the uncomfortable feelings, it just means if we can acknowledge and accept them whilst doing something that leads us towards the kind of life we want to be living, the feelings tend to reduce as we don’t get caught up in the struggle either them.
