Can I use my scooter or powerchair in the rain/snow??

Direct or prolonged exposure to water or dampness could cause your product to malfunction electronically and mechanically. Water can cause electrical components to corrode and the units frame to rust.

Your scooter or powerchair should be examined periodically for signs of corrosion caused by water exposure, bodily fluid exposure or incontinence.

If your scooter or powerchair comes into contact with water:

* Dry your product as thoroughly as possible with a towel.
* Allow the product to sit in a warm, dry place for 12 hours to allow unseen water to evaporate.
* If any issues are found, take your product to an authorised dealer - Countrywide Mobility Services.

Henry Morley

Henry Morley travelled as a second-class passenger on the Titanic and sadly died in the sinking.

He was listed as a passenger from Birmingham, but had shops in many places including Worcester, where one of his shop assistants was Kate Phillips.

They eloped together on the Titanic in the hope of starting a new life together in America. Kate survived and returned to Worcester.

A 1910 directory shows that Henry Morley has a confectionery shop at 336 high street.

Times are tough and to get the most out of your mobility scooter or powerchair, ensure you keep on top of the 'boring' but essential maintenance.

Simple checks:

* Correct tyre pressure.
* Clean and free from anything that may obstruct the wheels/motor.
* Charge your batteries after every use.

Countrywide Mobility Services both service and repair mobility scooters and powerchairs either in our purpose built workshop or at your home by one of our qualified and experienced engineers.

Servicing can either be purchased 'Pay as You Go', or as part of one of our heavily discounted Service Plans*.

❤️ Wednesday's Focus on Worcester ❤️

Edgar Tower is a gatehouse constructed at the former entrance to Worcester Castle.

The castle had been originally built on lands which included the graveyard of Worcester Cathedral.

The photo shows the rear of the tower taken from College Green.

College Green has been public green since at least the Reformation. During World War Two it was used as a potato field. The site is adjacent to Worcester Cathedral and King's School Worcester.
