Everyone deserves access to healthcare without judgment.

Bristol Dental School and Bridge2Aid have launched the first UK programme providing dental care to street s*x workers—treating real patients, removing barriers, and teaching students about the complexities of underserved communities.

Every person who attended for treatment reported being treated with dignity and respect, just as it should be. We're so proud of everyone involved and getting this off the ground. 👇

🇰🇪 Building new partnerships in Kenya

Last week, Shaenna spent three inspiring days in Kenya, meeting with the Ministry of Health, the University of Nairobi Dental School and our partners at Kinga Africa

The conversations explored Kenya’s oral health priorities and how Bridge2Aid might offer practical, programme support while helping to strengthen locally led, sustainable systems for the future.

Shaenna also visited Kinga Africa’s office and dental clinic in Matuu, meeting the team and seeing first-hand the services they provide within the community.

These were important first steps. We are excited about the potential to bring together government, academic and community partners to improve access to oral healthcare—building on the skills, knowledge and leadership already present in Kenya.

Seven volunteers. Seven countries. Sixty schools. Forty-four villages. One powerful partnership.

Last week, GC Europe joined Bridge2Aid, THEDI, Colgate-Palmolive Tanzania and local health and education leaders to train oral health champions across Sengerema District.

The teachers involved have the potential to reach around 116,000 children—and some were already putting their action plans into practice before the week had even finished.

This is what partnership looks like: local leadership, shared expertise and lasting change.

Shaenna is spending the next few days in Dar Es Salaam with Dr Gordian Chicco, technical lead for our partners - THEDI- meeting with other programme partners and co-creators.

This morning they met with Dr Gemma Berege, President of The Tanzania Dental Association and Dr. Shadia Majid Abubakary who was representing Dr. Ferdinand Machibya, Dean of MUHAS School of Dentistry.

This meeting is building on the success of our joint pilot Dental Therapist training programme, and they put a plan in place to co-develop pre-clinical training materials and an SOP for delivering dental outreach and training in rural Tanzania.
