When people think of general practice, they often think of appointments with a GP or nurse. However, these visible interactions are just the tip of the iceberg.

Every day, our team works on a huge range of activities that help keep patients safe, support the wider NHS, and ensure high-quality care is available when you need it. This includes reviewing test results, processing prescriptions, safeguarding, managing referrals, supporting care homes, training staff, coordinating with hospitals and community services, carrying out quality and safety work, and much more.

The image below illustrates the "iceberg" of general practice - showing how much of the work that supports patient care happens behind the scenes and may not always be visible.

πŸ’™ We are incredibly proud of our entire team and the dedication they show every day to caring for our patients and community.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we work to provide the best possible care for everyone.

β˜€οΈ Hot weather is here! Our maternity team is here to help you keep your newborn cool and safe with these simple but important tips πŸ‘ΆπŸ’›

πŸ‘ΆπŸ» Keep your baby out of direct sunlight β€” their delicate skin is highly sensitive to UV rays

πŸŒ‚ Use a clip-on sunshade or parasol on the pram β€” avoid blankets or muslins as they can trap heat

🌑️ Aim for a room temperature of 16Β°C to 20Β°C β€” a room thermometer can help you keep track

πŸŒ€ Use a fan to circulate air, but never leave it running unattended while baby sleeps

🏠 Open windows and keep blinds or curtains closed during the day to help rooms stay cooler
