A tale of progression and finding the good in things.
I booked some time off to guest at a studio I was asked to guest and and truth be told it sucked balls 😂 bad/no welcome, no help finding anything while the artists (not all some were lovely) blanked me, no lightbulbs above my bench, no chair to work off and zero promotion of a walk in day.
But the good I pulled from it I made friends with some lovely people and it made me appreciate just how good we have things worked out at The Lucky Turtle Tattoos knowing my team is just that a team and always have mine and eachothers backs is the best. Plus we have so many lightbulbs (can you tell that really bothered me)
I do want to say a massive thank you to Charliejoe for helping as much as she could with everything (being able to see and sit down was a luxury I’ve come to expect 😂😉) and also Roderick Bokros Eden Mcilroy Ashsmall Daniela Di Stasi for making me feel welcome and making the effort to talk to me like it mattered that I was there. Also got some solid gym sessions in around Bristol.
So where’s the progression come in? I’ve easily worked over 100 studios, conventions and weird places and in the past when I’ve been disrespected or mistreated I just say f**k you burn bridges and bail early. I moved over £1000 worth of bookings to sort this guest spot I was asked to go on to make zero money and be shown very little respect or professionalism yet I didn’t kick off I didn’t throw toys out of prams I saw it through to the end. I’m proud of that especially knowing my past instances of such. Will I be back? Obviously not. Will Weston super mare be seeing a lot more of me? Oh yes 😉🫶🏻
Progression comes in many forms and as I always say there’s always a positive in every situation. Thank you again to the positives of this weekend 🙏🏻
