We all know the downsides to social media, but today I saw something that was just what I needed to see! So here is a pic of my breathing. I know it sounds odd but I drew a line from left to right for as long as my inhale, then from right to left for my exhale. To begin with I was aware of all sorts of thoughts; am I doing it right, it looks untidy, shall i just do half the page... but then I settled into it and it calmed me down! It was exactly what I needed after a long day. Have a look at Flow and Create Therapy and have a go, so simple but a great way to regulate your nervous system 💕

Good morning, I have a few spaces opened up, only for the daytime though as evenings are still full! If anyone wants a slot let me know before I offer them to my partner agencies 💕

Endings in counseling are a critical part of the therapeutic process, ideally planned collaboratively between the therapist and client to allow for processing emotions and celebrating progress.

Sometimes a client comes less and less and an ending kind of naturally happens or sometimes endings are unplannned or even messy which can be difficult for both me and the client.

Today though, there was a healthy and planned ending as one of my clients had his final session and as much as there were elements of sadness at this therapeutic relationship ending, it felt good as we both reflected on how far he had come since we had first met. I'm thankful for the choccies and I'm looking forward to opening the box this evening!💕

More training for me today, this time on the important topic of AI. As a self-proclaimed technophobe, I must admit this topic scares me but recently a few of my clients have mentioned AI so I thought it was time I got myself more educated on this and how it can affect both my clients and my practice. Thanks as always to Creative Counsellors for this training, I certainly have lots to think about!💕

Before my first client today, I am taking some time to read this amazing new journal for counsellors. I am proud to be part of the Creative Counsellors community and I am in this first edition as the ambassadors are introduced! One of my art journalling pieces is also featured in an article about this method, which is an important part of my own self care. I will put the link in the comments for anyone that wants to take a look too!💕

There has been a lot of talk recently about who is"qualified" to support someone's mental health so this is too relevant not to share. I'm proud to be a counsellor that's fully qualified with loads of experience yet I can also see that there's room for other types of support which is completely relevant and has its place! Of course sometimes a trained professional is the only option but as long as someone isn't claiming to be something they aren't and knows their limits (me included) then I believe that connection and feeling heard is the most important factor here 💕
