Needing support? Shared on behalf of Brighton & Hove LGBT Switchboard
Referrals are now open for Recover with Pride, Brighton & Hove LGBT Switchboard’s specialist gambling harm support service for LGBTQ+ communities.
Recover with Pride has been built because too many LGBTQ+ people experience gambling harm in silence, while mainstream support can feel unfamiliar, stigmatising, or simply not made with our lives in mind. Research and lived experience both point to the impact of minority stress, discrimination, isolation, shame, and the pressure of trying to cope alone.
This service has been shaped as a different kind of response. Recover with Pride is trauma-informed, identity-affirming, and designed for and by LGBTQ+ people. It offers confidential support for people who gamble, and for people affected by someone else’s gambling too.
Support includes one-to-one coaching, peer support and wellbeing groups, delivered with Reframe Coaching, alongside independent evaluation from the University of Brighton.
Recover with Pride referral forms are managed by our partner Reframe Coaching. You can refer yourself, or make a referral on behalf of someone else with their knowledge and consent.
If gambling is affecting you, or someone close to you, referrals are now open. You do not have to work it out on your own. Form accessible here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSejoogFIwkUljTW_kkW2DWmMD9PRShzgVJRZx9GcRhbDBdmfg/viewform
