☀️☀️Chilling in the Sun☀️☀️

We had a lovely hour in the sunshine this afternoon☀️

Everyone had lots to talk about while enjoying ice lollies and plenty of orange juice🍊to keep us hydrated.

It was so interesting listening to Ken telling us how he was in the Royal Airforce and how much he loved flying the aeroplanes ✈️

And we also found out how Derek use to love riding motorbikes. His favourite type of bike is a BMW 🏍️

Peter told us how much he loves Aston Martin cars and James Bond🏎️

Gwen use to travel around Europe in a motorhome with her husband. They were both teachers so they had all the summer holidays to explore all the different countries 🚐

And last but not least Keith just told how much he loves sitting in the sun and how he spent many holidays in the South of France 🇫🇷

It's at times like this that it's lovely just to sit down and chat especially in the sunshine ☀️

⚽️WORLD CUP SWEEP ⚽️

Well we have all picked our team's for the World Cup⚽️

Some of us are more hopeful than others but like we say when we play bingo You have got to be in it to win it🏆🥇🥈🥉🏆

So fingers crossed and may the best team win. 🤞🤞🤞

There will be a prize for 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th price 🙌
And a prize for whoever does the worst 🙈

PLAY YOUR CARDS RIGHT

Today at Hafod House we went back to the 80s and played the fantastic game of Play Your Cards Right♥️♠️

Every Saturday evening we would all settle down and watch Bruce Forsyth host this card game and yell at the telly Higher or Lower♦️

We all had such a fun afternoon and the memories of that era was a talking point for the rest of the day♣️

Yesterday Derek had a visit from his son Barry. As you can see from the photograph that they are like two peas in a pod. Derek spent a lovely afternoon catching up Barry. It's so nice to see when family come into visit their loved ones. It really cheers them all up and puts smile's on their faces 😍😍❤️❤️

❤️❤️SISTERLY LOVE ❤️❤️

Yesterday our lovely Gwen had a visit from her beautiful sister Dorothy ❤️❤️
As it was such a gorgeous day they decided to sit outside in the sunshine ☀️☀️
Whenever these two sisters meet up they always have lots of stories to catch up on.
Gwen use to be a school teacher teaching English and French and when you have a chat with her she tells you all about her teaching days and how much she enjoyed them.😍😍😍😍😍
I love talking to Gwen, as she has so much knowledge and listening to her telling me of the things she got up to as a young lady is an honour.
As with all our lovely residents listening to all their stories of their life's is amazing and a joy to us all at Hafod House.
This is what makes our jobs so special ❤️❤️❤️
So old like to say a BIG THANK YOU for everyone for sharing precious moments with everyone ❤️❤️❤️

This afternoon's activity was a game of Hangman. Everyone remembers playing it as a child and it's still as popular now as it was then. It's such a simple game to play and we had so much fun. Today's subject was films from the decades and our residents and staff got most of them right. When we guess the film we all remembered when we first watched them and the conversation just flows. It brings back lots of memories and gets everyone thinking about the past which is something we all like to think about. We are already planning our next game.

What fun and games we had at Hafod House playing darts 🎯
Everyone did so well and hit some amazing scores 🎯
This game is great for your eye coordination and also having a steady hand comes in useful 🎯
All I can say is Luke Littler has got some very strong competition on his hands and The Winter Gardens in Blackpool might just be calling. 🎯🎯🎯🎯

☀️☀️Making Memories ☀️☀️

We had a lovely afternoon in the garden while the sun was shining ☀️☀️☀️

We reminisced back to our childhood and made simple but effective buttercup chains. It brought back lots of memories of being a child and first putting the buttercup under our chins and asking do you like butter. If it showed up yellow you did and if nothing showed up you didn't.
We all decided these were the good old days when things in life was simple and being in the sunshine ☀️ and fresh air was the best medicine ever ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
