This Learning Disability Week, we’re proud to promote inclusion, understanding, and person-centred support for individuals with learning disabilities.

At Altriss ASC Training, creating inclusive environments is at the heart of everything we do, and we’re passionate about helping people feel valued, respected, and empowered.

We’re also incredibly proud that our Director is the Chairman of frienDS Wrexham, a wonderful Down syndrome charity supporting individuals and families within the community. 💙

A little milestone for us today...

After months of development, testing, rewriting, troubleshooting, coffee, panic, more testing, and probably enough screen time to concern an optician...

Altriss Learning has now been approved by Apple and Google!

That means our learning platform is now available on both Android and Apple devices.

What started as a simple idea to make training easier for busy care staff has grown into something much bigger:

✅ Mobile learning
✅ Instant certificates
✅ Training matrix integration
✅ Compliance reporting
✅ Learning that fits around shifts, family life and real-world care

Twelve months ago, I wouldn't have called myself a developer.

I'm still a carer at heart. Still a trainer. Still passionate about helping people provide the best possible care.

The technology has simply become another way to support the people who support others.

A huge thank you to everyone who has tested the app, reported bugs, provided feedback, and encouraged me along the way.

There is still plenty to do. New courses, new features, Welsh language content, and some exciting developments that we're already working on.

But today, I'm taking a moment to appreciate how far we've come.

This Carers Week, we’re recognising the millions of unpaid carers across the UK who quietly support family members, friends, and loved ones every single day 💙

There are around 5.8 million unpaid carers in the UK, contributing an estimated £184 billion worth of care each year — the equivalent of a second NHS.

Many carers balance work, family life, education, and their own wellbeing alongside caring responsibilities, often without recognising themselves as carers or knowing support is available.

Young carers are also part of this picture. Across the UK, an estimated 800,000 children and young people help care for someone at home.

No one should feel like they have to manage caring responsibilities alone.
