I don't just treat the painful bit

When someone comes to see me with a bad back, sore shoulder or painful knee, I don't just look at the area that hurts.

I want to understand the bigger picture.

How active are you? How strong are you? What are you trying to get back to? What might be affecting your recovery?

For me, good physiotherapy is about treating the person, not just the injury. If you're ready to look beyond the injury and understand what your body really needs, get in touch with me at Natural Balance. Or find out more here:

Your Body Remembers

Ever notice how an old injury seems to return months, or even years, later?

That's because your body often develops compensation patterns.

Perhaps you're walking differently; perhaps your muscles have become weaker on one side; perhaps your movement has changed without you noticing.

Rather than only treating today's pain, we look at why it's happening.

That's how lasting change begins. Find the cause, not just the symptoms.

Are You Walking Around Pain?

Many people quietly adapt their lives without even realising it.

Taking the stairs differently.
Avoiding long walks.
Not gardening anymore.
Choosing not to play with the grandchildren.

These small changes often become the new normal.

But they don't have to.

Physiotherapy isn't just about reducing pain - it's about helping you get back to living the life you want. Let's talk about what you want to get back to doing.

⚽🏃‍♀️ Kids aren't just "small adults."

Growing bones, muscles and joints respond differently to sport.

Recurring heel pain.
Knee pain during football.
Ankle injuries that never quite settle.

These shouldn't simply be dismissed as "growing pains."

Early assessment can help prevent small issues becoming long-term problems and keep children enjoying the activities they love. Concerned about your child's movement? Book an assessment with our experienced team.

Could your child's school bag be causing problems?

A heavy backpack isn't always the issue - it's often how it's carried.

If your child regularly carries one strap over one shoulder, leans to one side or complains of neck, shoulder or back discomfort after school, it may be worth investigating.

Small changes in posture and movement habits can make a big difference while children are still growing.

At Natural Balance, we assess the whole picture, helping children move comfortably and confidently as they develop.

📞 Don't ignore aches that keep coming back. Let's help your child enjoy being active. Book an assessment today and give your child the best start for healthy movement.

Your body was designed to move... not stay still.

Whether you're working from home, driving or sitting in meetings all day, try the 30-minute rule.

Every half an hour:

✔ Stand up
✔ Walk for one minute
✔ Roll your shoulders
✔ Stretch your hips
✔ Reset your posture

These tiny movement breaks improve circulation, reduce stiffness and help prevent those persistent aches that gradually creep in.

Movement really is medicine. If stiffness has become your "normal", let us help you change that.

International Youth Day

The habits we build when we are young can shape our health for years to come.

Encouraging children and young adults to enjoy movement, prioritise sleep and develop confidence in what their bodies can do lays the foundation for lifelong wellbeing.

As physiotherapists, we believe that staying active should be enjoyable, accessible and something that supports people at every age.

National Allotments Week

National Allotments Week celebrates the many ways that gardening and spending time outdoors can support our health.

Activities such as digging, planting and tending to an allotment provide gentle exercise, encourage us to spend time in nature and can inspire healthier eating habits.
Wellbeing is often built through simple, enjoyable routines that fit naturally into everyday life.
