Abit of a personal post to just get things off my chest.
Today has been the first day in a long time where I’ve genuinely felt like I was at breaking point mentally— just with feeling completely overwhelmed and burnt-out.
Running my own studio while tattooing and piercing has always been something I’ve poured my heart and soul into.
I’ve always tried to stay on top of things and give 100%, even while quietly holding myself together through things going on in my personal life.
leaving home life at the door when you come to work, is easier said than done.
Being on the spectrum and currently going through trauma therapy has made it harder than ever to keep all those plates spinning, I’m learning that healing isn’t always easy, and sometimes it affects the parts of life you’ve worked so hard to keep separate.
I always feel embarrassed if I talk too much, over-explain, or apologise for things that are outside of my control.
So I just want to say a huge thank you to every single client who has shown me kindness, patience, and understanding when I’ve needed a few extra minutes, a little break, or when I’ve not really been my usual self, and honestly It means more than you’ll ever know.
I still have a long way to go with my journey of having therapy, and I truly believe it will have the biggest positive impact on my life in the long run.
I also need to stop apologising for being human.
I’ve spent so long trying to be the best I can every single day, only to still feel like I’m failing when really, I’m just doing my best to stay afloat mentally.
It’s time to start being a little kinder to myself, which I am finding so challenging.
Over the coming weeks I’ll be making some changes to my tattooing and piercing hours to create a healthier balance between work and home life.
All I want is to just give my clients the best version of myself while also giving myself the time and space I need to heal.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has stood by me and given me nothing but patience, understanding and support, I really really do appreciate every single one of you more than words can say. ❤️
