I'm looking forward to joining Sally Ashe at Get **it Done Club on 9th September in Menai Bridge.

I'll be sharing why building a successful business is a lot like building a house. Without strong foundations, it's difficult to create something that lasts. We'll be looking at why strategy isn't just good for your business, it's good for your wellbeing too.

If you've been meaning to spend more time working on your business rather than constantly in it, this is a great place to start.

And if you'd like to take it a step further, I'll also be running an Orbit Strategy Session straight after the networking event. It's a chance to put the ideas into practice, step back from the day-to-day and leave with a clear visual strategy and practical priorities for your business.

Brilliant morning at the G*DC Colwyn Bay launch! 💜

Such a fab community — great conversations, lovely people and, importantly, a very good croissant! 🥐😊

I also had the opportunity to introduce my Business Strategy Sessions and talk about why taking time out of your business to work on your business is so important.

For me, good strategy isn’t about complicated business plans. It’s about stepping back, getting clear on where you’re going, deciding what really deserves your time and energy, and building a business that works for you — not the other way around.

I’m looking forward to getting to know the Colwyn Bay community and seeing where some of those conversations lead.

Another brilliant Business Strategy session with Laura Macleod, former England Women’s Cricket coach! 🏏

We spent the session looking at the opportunities within Laura’s business, where she wants to take it next and what needs to be in place to make those opportunities a reality.

I often compare building a business to building a house. Before you start decorating or adding extensions, you need to make sure the foundations are solid. That’s exactly what these sessions are about — stepping back, looking at the whole picture and creating a clear plan to build from.

I’ll be speaking at GSDC about something I think many business owners don’t give themselves enough time to do—step back and think strategically about what they’re actually building.

I often compare building a business to building a house.

If you’re a startup, you need a blueprint. You need to know what you’re building and make sure the foundations are right before you start worrying about the decorating.

If you’ve been in business for a while, you may have added new services, taken on different clients and responded to opportunities as they’ve come along. Before you know it, the business can feel like a house that’s had rooms added in all sorts of places, but doesn’t quite flow anymore.

And if you want to grow, you need to know that the foundations and structure can support that growth. There’s no point building an extension if the rest of the house isn’t ready for it.

That’s what I’ll be talking about at GSDC—creating the time and space to look honestly at your business, challenge what you’re doing and decide what needs to happen next.

I’ll also be sharing more about my Strategic Business Planning Sessions for startups, solopreneurs and established businesses.

Because sometimes you don’t need to work harder in your business. You need to step back and decide what you’re building.

Another fantastic session delivered!

I had the pleasure of delivering a half-day Neurodiversity for Managers course at Vitaflow on behalf of SquareOne Training.

It’s always encouraging to work with managers who are genuinely interested in understanding neurodiversity and creating workplaces where people can thrive. Small changes in awareness and approach can make a huge difference to individuals and teams alike.

What a lovely day!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the Body Wisdom Burnout Retreat last week.

I thoroughly enjoyed delivering my session and spending the day with such a fantastic group of people. Thank you for your openness, your willingness to share your experiences, and for making the conversations so engaging.

Burnout is something so many people experience, and I hope you all left feeling better informed, reassured and with some practical ways to recognise the signs and support yourselves moving forward.

A special thank you to Women’s Work & Wellbeing, Margaret Bell, Carol Hickson and everyone involved in making the day happen. It was a pleasure to be part of it.

I hope to see some of you again at a future event. 💚
