Wymondham’s summer late night shopping evening is here. We & lots of other businesses in town will be open til 7pm.

Looking ahead to next week, we will be closed between Monday 3rd-Tuesday 18th August; re-opening on 19th August, for a little break & family time 💕🌿✨

Looking forward to seeing you this evening, tomorrow & Saturday, then again from 19th August! 🌿

😎Here's the story of the Summer Shopping Evening. It's the story of people working together.

🍺A few months ago your local business owners and leaders of community groups got together upstairs in the The Green Dragon, and decided that we wanted to do something to celebrate summer for those of us who hadn't disappeared off on holiday. Fiona from Middletons Clothing went out looking for buskers, Tracy from Kett's Books worked on finding food vendors, and Gabi from made us a page on the Visit Wymondham website - and talked to Wymondham Town Council to get us generous permission to use the market square.

💪Kieran from The White Hart, Doug who isn't on Facebook, and a few other helpers put up posters and then got the giant banner into place at the top of Fairland Street. Victoria from Victoria Jane gave us some pointers on organising, and Chris from Wymondham Heritage Museum got some bunting up for us. Oh and he also organised for Wymondham Abbey Church to be open for our visitors, with the cafe and the garden doors thrown wide open.

👐And then the businesses started saying they'll be open. Visit Wymondham report that - **in addition to all those businesses we mentioned before** - Williams & Parfitt Antiques and Interiors will be open, as well as Mad Hatters Tea Shop, Hemstock's Jewellers, Caley's Apothecary, Elementals Magickal Emporium, Fosters Solicitors, Leslie Terrance home gift and garden and That Little Norfolk Shop & Studio. (They'll have ice cream down near the monument, so go and find them!)

🎸 To add to the atmosphere we've got music. We've got Lelia Valois, Tim Sadler, and Rock Choir • Choirs led by Emily Robinson performing.

🍩🍦🍟Oh and food! Mr Frosty's ice cream Norwich, and both **gyros and churros!** Plus all our regular evening food will be available: The Feathers, The Wise Monkeys,

☀️ On top of all that, we've managed to do the impossible and just about guarantee sunshine and dry weather. The only thing we don't know, is will you be there?

Wymondham has been even more beautiful & more colourful than usual, with Wymondham in Bloom going on. 🌸🌿
It is really lovely & unexpected to receive this, this evening, during a little ceremony at Kett's Books . Thank you to the judges & voters 💚, and thanks to Wymondham in Bloom for all you put into the event & Wymondham Garden Centre for some fabulous supplies for the display! Congratulations to all the other fabulous local businesses who won awards, too 🌸

In addition to many stocked refills for home, hair & body care, plus plant grown sponges & cleaning pads, we also stock these, which are new in. Washing machine detox, & their refills. Any specific favourite you’re after, do ask, and we’ll order it in, if possible 💚🌿

Wymondham in Bloom has town looking very pretty and colourful at the moment! At Caley’s Apothecary, there was no way we’d be leaving herbs out of our display, so along with the hanging basket full of blooms, we have two window troughs full of herbs! With “In Bloom, inspired by art” being the theme, we also added to our window wool, naturally dyed using plants, such as woad to produce blue, and rhubarb root for the brownish colour. We even brought out The Medical Herbalist London: Stephanie Caley, MNIMH ‘s 2005 herbarium specimens, pressed during her time on her Health Science: Herbal Medicine degree, to show both the beautiful blend of the art & science of herbal medicine 💚🌿

Wymondham in Bloom 2026 🌿💚
This year’s theme was “Inspired by Art.”

I never imagined that my herbarium specimens and botanical drawing of borage from my 2005 Botany module (thank you, Niki!) during my Health Science: Herbal Medicine degree at the University of Westminster would be on display 21 years later in what would become Caley’s Apothecary! 😄

They’ve come in very handy for telling the story of the art and science of herbal medicine.

Alongside organically grown herbs, old herbal books, a glowing ruby-red organic hibiscus infusion in a glass teapot, antique apothecary bottles (thank you !) and beautifully naturally dyed wool, we wanted to celebrate the many ways plants have inspired both healing and creativity.

The wool in our display was naturally dyed using rhubarb root, Brazilwood and woad—just a few examples of the remarkable colours that plants can produce.🌿

It has been such fun to put together while making sure the herbs remained at the heart of the apothecary, amongst all the beautiful blooms appearing across town.

This year’s display isn’t over yet, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s! 😄🌿✨

Town is getting ready for Wymondham in Bloom & so is Caley’s Apothecary! We have our floral hanging basket up, but we couldn’t do floral blooms without including blooming herbs 💚🌿✨ Which of your favourite herbs can you spot here? We need to squeeze in rosemary (as it’d be criminal not to!), and are hoping the calendula & cornflower make a surprise appearance. Next, to prepare the window 🌿🌸🌺🌼🌿

Today is Wymondham’s St. George’s Day late night shopping event! We also heard it’s Shakespeare’s birthday (thank you, Tony!).
