Yes, the medication can help. But often this type of medication (T4/T3 combined) that actually helps many people is not prescribed by doctors. They prescribe T4 only, with many people not feeling any better on it, or even worse (in my case).
Even with the right medication, the autoimmune component needs to be addressed, otherwise there will still be ongoing inflammation in the body causing all sorts of health issues and horrible symptoms.
This can be done with dietary and lifestyle changes. There are so many things we can do ourselves to get ourselves feeling better. It’s not just ‘take a pull and carry on your old lifestyle’. For me, it had been looking at my entire life and over time, changing things to live a life that was more authentic to who I was. Will it ever be perfect? No, of course not! But I remember how powerless I felt when western medicine had no solutions for me. I saw many experts who didn’t care it was getting worse. No one told me about the dangers of autoimmune disease being left untreated. Especially for a young woman. So I talk about this to help you feel empowered. You can feel better. You deserve more.
