I’m standing in my garden, and I can’t breathe…
It’s supposed to be my happy place. But all of a sudden, my heart starts thundering against my ribs. My palms go clammy, the air feels too thin, and that familiar, terrifying "freeze" takes over with that overwhelming whisper of “I can’t do this.”
That’s the lie anxiety tells me. Whether I’m trying to pick out a loaf of bread at the shops or just tending to my plants, menopause-driven panic doesn't ask for permission. It just arrives—sudden, cold, and paralyzing.
I’m sharing my experience for Mental Health Awareness Week because I know I’m not the only one standing still in a supermarket aisle, trying to remember how to take a normal breath.
I developed the Cosmic Harmony ritual for these exact moments. Not because I’m an expert who has it all figured out, but because I’m a woman who needed a way to fight back against the freeze.
It’s a box of sensory anchors—tangible things to touch, smell, and hold onto when your nervous system is screaming "run."
I’m not "cured." I still get the palpitations. I still feel the fear. But I’m learning that even when I’m frozen, I’m not powerless.
If you’ve ever felt that "out of nowhere" panic today, I see you. You aren't failing; your body is just overwhelmed.
Let’s try to find a little harmony together with the Cosmic Harmony: "Centre & Calm" Ritual
The Action: Having a "Sensory Anchor" ready to deploy the second you feel that wave of panic or unexplained dread.
Apply the Cosmic Harmony blend of Rose Geranium, Lavender, and Neroli to your chest and the insides of your elbows.
The Ritual: When that "surge" starts, press your elbows against your ribs and breathe in the scent. The Rose Geranium helps level out the emotional spike, while the Neroli helps quiet the "alarm" bells in your brain. It’s like a liquid hug for your nervous system when things feel out of balance.
Crystals (Rose Quartz & Clear Quartz):
The Ritual: During a panic spike, hold the Rose Quartz tightly. Its cool, solid weight acts as a physical "earth" for that vibrating, frantic energy. Use it to remind yourself: "This is a hormone surge, it is temporary, and I am safe." Once the wave passes, hold the Clear Quartz to help sweep away the "brain fog" that often follows a panic attack, helping you find your focus again.
Memo Block (The "Truth List"):
The Ritual: When you are feeling calm, write a "Truth List" on your memo block. List three things that haven't changed (e.g., "My home is quiet," "I am breathing," "This will pass"). Keep this sheet in your Take Action box. When the panic hits and your thoughts start to spiral, reading those physical words can "stop the clock" and ground you back in reality.
