Somerset Parent Carer Forum, is for parent's and carer's of 0-25 years old with an additional need or disability. We shape the services locally and nationally with parent carers, by giving you the opportunity to have your say. We have a 'finding your way' online guide and opportunities to meet like minded parents and carers, to feel less isolated, share strategies, sharing information and to feel empowered. The Government has launched a consultation on Education Other Than At School (EOTAS) as part of the wider SEND Reforms, and we want to make sure the voices of Somerset parent carers are heard.The consultation is open until 18 September 2026.

📢 SEND Survey Closing Date Extended – There's Still Time to Have Your Say!

If you're a parent, carer, young person, or professional involved with SEND services, we'd really value your feedback.

⏰ The survey closing date has now been extended to Friday 18th September, giving you extra time to share your experiences and views.

Your responses help us monitor the progress of the SEND Improvement and Reform Plan, allowing us to understand what's working well and where improvements are still needed. The findings will be shared with the Department for Education (DfE) and NHS England (NHSE) as part of ongoing monitoring and reporting.

Your feedback is also particularly important as the Somerset Area Partnership is expected to have its OFSTED SEND inspection within the coming months. Survey responses help demonstrate the real experiences of families and professionals and provide valuable evidence to support the inspection process.

🎁 As a thank you for taking part, everyone who completes the survey will have the opportunity to enter a prize draw to win an Amazon voucher (please see the survey for full terms and conditions).

Every response matters and helps shape better services and outcomes for children and young people with SEND across Somerset.

Finding Your Way Wells is a friendly support group open to anyone caring for a child or young person aged 0 to 25 with additional needs or disabilities. No diagnosis is required to attend.

After our summer break, we're pleased to be reopening our Finding Your Way Groups and we can't wait to welcome everyone back!

Join us this Wednesday at The Activity Warehouse, Bridgwater for our next Finding Your Way Group.

☕ A friendly and relaxed space for parent carers of children and young people with additional needs and/or disabilities.
