By eck it's taken a cold turn! I didn't use to like winter much at all l. I'd call myself solar powered and feel pretty glum when the days got shorter.
Daoist teachings and Five Element Theory has shown me the value of each season in the cycle of the year and now I say bring it on! Winter is a time to slow down and conserve our energy so that we can recharge our batteries. Our body's batteries are the Kidneys, where Source Energy, or Jing Qi, is stored. And they need nourishing, especially in Winter as the Kidneys are very sensitive to Cold. One important way to do this is by keeping the Kidney area, the feet and the ears warm. This is because in Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Kidneys open into the ear, and the Kidney meridian begins in the sole of the foot.
I've been keeping my ears warm with this lovely purple hat my mum knitted for me! 😁
