Nearly 3 stone down since the start of the year, proving what dedication and hard work can achieve when following a structured plan of nutrition and exercise.

Hear below what Merinda has to say regarding personal training with myself.

"Over the last few months, Paul has been amazing — creating fun and interesting programmes to follow and pushing me to my limits during our 1-to-1 sessions. He always does it with a smile and keeps things enjoyable, which makes such a difference. I’m already seeing great results and have got back into a really good routine with the gym and healthier, more mindful eating. He’s genuinely helped me make a full lifestyle change, and I’m so grateful for the support and the goals I’ll continue to achieve along the way."

5 Things That Make the BIGGEST Difference to Fat Loss (and they’re simpler than you think!)

If you ever feel like you’re “doing everything” but not seeing the results you want… focus on these five foundations.

These are the habits my most successful clients master — and they’re exactly what move the needle 📈

✨ 1. Hitting your protein target
Aim for each meal to have a decent serve of protein. It keeps you fuller for longer, stabilises your energy and supports lean muscle (which boosts your metabolism!).

✨ 2. Being consistent with steps
You don’t need crazy cardio — just daily movement.
10k steps is a great target, but ANY increase from where you’re at now will help.

✨ 3. Strength training 2–3 x per week
Build muscle → burn more calories at rest → look more toned.
It doesn’t need to be long sessions, it just needs to be consistent.

✨ 4. Planning your food ahead
You don’t need to meal prep perfectly — but knowing what you’re eating tomorrow stops the “last-minute takeaway” spiral.
Premade meals are perfect when you’re busy.

✨ 5. Drinking enough water
Most people who feel “snacky” are actually just dehydrated.
2–3 litres a day makes a huge difference to energy and hunger.

It’s never about being perfect — it’s about nailing the basics, consistently.
If you focus on these 5 things, fat loss becomes so much easier ❤️

Breakfast isn’t just important, it might be your muscle’s best friend.

A new study has found that eating a high-protein breakfast can boost muscle growth by up to 41%, especially when combined with strength training. Researchers say the morning window is crucial because your muscles are in a fasted state and highly responsive to nutrient intake.

By supplying protein early in the day, ideally 30 to 40 grams from eggs, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, or protein shakes, you kickstart muscle protein synthesis when it matters most. This leads to better recovery, enhanced growth, and stronger results from your workouts.

Compared to those who consume protein later, early protein eaters showed greater muscle retention, improved metabolism, and faster gains, even with the same workout. The body’s circadian rhythm may play a key role, as morning protein aligns with optimal hormonal responses like elevated testosterone and lowered cortisol.

So if you’ve been skipping breakfast or grabbing a carb-heavy snack, this is your sign to load up on protein first thing. Because growth doesn’t wait and neither should your muscles.

”Building strength & muscle!”

This isn’t just about looking good in your 40s & 50s - it’s about staying healthy, strong, and unstoppable!! 👊💥💥

✅ More muscle means better protection against diabetes, cancer, heart disease, and strokes
✅ It means faster recovery, a higher quality of life, and staying active for years to come
✅ Having more muscle is also a metabolism booster, reducing unnecessary weight gain as we get older

Still think it’s just vanity? Think again. This is about living life on YOUR terms 🫵

Ready to get stronger in your 40s & 50s? Let me show you how: 👇👇

1️⃣ Strength train 3-4 days a week. Following a structured training program designed for you and your goals 🏋️‍♀️
2️⃣ Get adequate protein 🍗🥩🐟🍳🥛 Anywhere from 1g-2g per kilogram of your body weight ⚖️
3️⃣ Track your workouts 📝 And make sure you’re progressing overtime 💪
4️⃣ Push yourself so the last few reps feel really hard! Change happens OUTSIDE of your comfort zone 🔥
5️⃣ Have rest days! SO important for recovery
6️⃣ Aim to get 7-8+ hrs sleep 💤
7️⃣ Don’t chase weight loss all the time. Live most of your life at maintenance!
8️⃣ Make sure you’re eating enough! The quality of your food matters also. Think mostly whole foods 🍏
9️⃣ Be consistent!! But stop trying to be perfect 🙅🏻‍♀️
🔟 Give it TIME! This takes months & YEARS! But it’s worth it 💯💯💯

Let’s do this!! 👊💥💥

Hot take: FRIDAY matters more than Sunday when it comes to fat loss 🔥

Everyone talks about “Sunday prep”…
But honestly? Friday is the real game-changer.

Because Friday is where most people slip into:
• “Stuff it, it’s the weekend” mode
• Mindless snacking
• Drinks after work
• Takeaway because you’re tired
• A full weekend blowout
… and then we spend all of Sunday trying to “fix” it.

But when you prepare on Friday, everything changes.

Here’s what to do:
✔️ Have a plan for dinner
✔️ Know what snacks you’re allowing
✔️ Decide if you’re drinking or not
✔️ Set a step goal for Saturday
✔️ Have breakfast ready for the next day

A 5-minute plan on Friday saves you from 2 days of chaos.

Get Friday right… and the whole weekend becomes easy. 💛

Meet Jenny 💪

Jenny enlisted my help to strengthen the body to complete a challenge to climb Pen-y-ghent, hear what she has to say below:

"A huge thank you to Paul for helping me conquer Pen-y-ghent, a personal challenge I was encouraged (bullied lol) to do by friends.

After suffering two broken ankles last year, I wasn't sure what my body was capable of. Paul took the time to really get to know me, carefully progressing my training to make sure my ankles were properly tested and rebuilt before stepping things up. He never pushed me beyond my limits, and that patience and care made all the difference.

We had a laugh along the way too, which made every session something I genuinely looked forward to. Standing on that summit, I felt every bit of the work we'd put in, I felt strong and capable of anything. Couldn't recommend Paul enough!"

Everyone talks about "calorie deficit"... but here's the full picture

Deficit = you lose weight
Deficit + Protein = you lose fat and keep muscle
Deficit + Protein + Training = you lose fat and build
muscle
Stop chasing just weight loss .. aim for body re-composition.

That's how you actually change how you look.

The worst thing we’ve been saying ⬇️

🔥 “Feel the burn” “feel the burn” 🔥

We’ve been told that it’s the sign of a good workout or exercise.

But the “burn” isn’t going to grow your muscles - it’s simply just fatigue.

Not strength.
Not overload.
Not the stimulus your muscles need to actually grow.

If you want to transform your physique and achieve strong, muscular, defined, & toned legs - the way you’ll do that is by strength training.

When strength training - we’re focusing on lifting heavy - close or to failure.
When you do this - you should feel the “strain” - not necessarily the “burn”.

This isn’t to say that you shouldn’t ever do movements where you “feel the burn” - like high-rep bodyweight movements or isometric/holding movements - but those serve a different purpose and don’t change your physique.

Stop chasing the burn. Start chasing the STRAIN.
