The Cocoa Clinic Management has successfully concluded its 63rd Management Staff Meeting.

The two-day meeting, held on Wednesday, 29th April and Thursday, 30th April 2026, brought together Medical Managers from Regional Satellite Clinics and Heads of Units.

As part of the programme, participants presented detailed reports on their operational activities for the second quarter of the 2025/2026 year, highlighting achievements, challenges, and strategic priorities.

Chairing the meeting, the Director of Cocoa Clinics, Dr. Kafui Tamakloe, urged all staff across the various units to remain committed and dedicated in their roles, emphasizing the importance of collective effort in achieving the Clinic’s core objective of delivering high-quality, patient-centered healthcare.

The Management of Cocoa Clinic has honoured two distinguished former staff members who have retired after years of dedicated service.

Mrs. Agnes Boamah Ofosu began her journey with the Clinic in March 2002 as a Staff Nurse. Through hard work and commitment spanning 21 years, she rose to the position of Deputy Matron before her retirement.

Dr. Edward Amporful, who joined the Clinic in January 1992, served diligently and became Chief Pharmacist in 1998. He successfully retired in 2025, having maintained that role with excellence.

In recognition of their tireless service to Cocoa Clinic and the nation, citations were presented to them by the Director, Dr. Kafui Tamakloe.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to them and wish them the very best in their future endeavours.

Wearing traditional attire goes beyond aesthetics; it is an act of cultural affirmation and a deliberate effort to reconnect with indigenous knowledge systems. It reflects a broader commitment to preserving heritage for future generations.
Each day presents an opportunity to celebrate this heritage by embracing authentic African designs with pride and confidence, thereby ensuring that Ghana’s cultural legacy remains vibrant and enduring.

The Director of Health, Dr. Kafui Tamakloe, together with the newly appointed Hospital Administrator, Mr. Enoch Boakye Nketiah, together with some members of the Cocoa Clinic Management Staff Committee has successfully concluded a familiarisation tour of the Satellite Clinics in Tafo, Kumasi, Debiso, Takoradi and Tema.

The visit introduced Dr. Tamakloe as the substantive Director of the Cocoa Clinic after serving in an acting capacity for eight months, and Mr. Nketiah as the Hospital Administrator. The tour also enabled Management to obtain first-hand insights into operational challenges and engage key stakeholders on ways to strengthen collaboration and improve service delivery across the clinics.

During the engagements, Dr. Caryn Agyeman Prempeh, the Ghana Medical Association’s representative on the Cocoa Clinic Management Committee, encouraged staff to serve with empathy and professionalism, while upholding the highest medical standards to ensure patient safety and quality healthcare.

Cocoa Clinic Successfully Marks World Glaucoma Week with Awareness Campaign and Free Screening

The Cocoa Clinic has successfully concluded activities to mark World Glaucoma Week 2026, following a week-long awareness and screening campaign held at the Cocoa Clinic in Accra and its satellite clinics across selected cocoa-growing regions.

The exercise provided free glaucoma screening to members of the public, including farmers and staff, attracting people from diverse age groups. Medical examinations conducted during the campaign helped detect early signs of glaucoma in some participants, enabling timely medical intervention.

The initiative forms part of COCOBOD’s commitment to promoting preventive healthcare among its stakeholders and surrounding communities, while raising awareness about the dangers of glaucoma, a leading cause of irreversible blindness if not detected early.

Participants who benefitted from the screening expressed appreciation to COCOBOD Management for facilitating the exercise within communities where Cocoa Clin⁸ics operate, noting that the initiative significantly contributes to COCOBOD’s corporate social responsibility efforts.

The Director of Health, Dr. Kafui Tamakloe, together with some Management Staff, participated in the ongoing free glaucoma screening and sensitization exercise at the Cocoa Clinic, Accra.

The initiative was aimed at encouraging staff and members of the general public to take advantage of the free screening opportunity to have their eyes examined.

Dr. Tamakloe emphasized the importance of early detection, noting that glaucoma is often described as a “silent thief of sight.” He therefore urged the public to seek early screening and treatment to prevent possible loss of vision
