The President of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Ghana (PMAG),Elder Dr Nana Amo Tobbin, said that nations that depended too heavily on imported medications remain vulnerable in times of crisis and so Ghana must therefore strengthen its local pharmaceutical manufacturing capacity.

“Our PMAG members continue to serve this nation with distinction despite many operational and economic challenges. They have shown resilience, patriotism and unwavering commitment to the Ghana’s healthcare system,” he said.

Elder Tobbin who is also the Executive Chairman of the TOBINCO GROUP of Companiesempasized that Ghana has the potential to become the leading pharmaceutical manufacturing
hub in West Africa.

“Achieving this vision, requires deliberate action some key areas:
Innovation and right skills, A strong industrial value chain, Government support and policy consistency."

He ended his address by extending his sincerest gratitude to partners, sponsors, exhibitors and PMAG Day Planning Committee for making the day a big success.
