Let me tell you what happened…
I was about to take my bath at dawn to attend a friend’s baby outdooring, and gosh—the tap water was freezing.
So I decided to heat some water with the kettle. At this point, I already had my bathing bowl sitting inside the bucket of cold water.
When the hot water was ready, I thought I had poured everything into the bucket…
Long story short, some hot water was still in the bowl—and I ended up pouring that straight on myself 😬
So I accidentally got a hot water burn—and I’m not even going to lie, it looked scary at first. My skin was reacting, and I had that moment of panic like… “What do I even have at home that can work fast? Salt water or Vaseline?”
Then boom… Vaseline won.
Because I decided to focus on one thing: moisture healing.
I kept it simple—Vaseline and raw shea butter. No overthinking, just consistency. Morning and night, I made sure the area stayed moisturized and protected.
And this right here… is the healing process.
No dryness, no cracking—just letting my skin repair itself with proper barrier protection.
Now don’t get me wrong—this is for minor burns only. If it’s serious, please go to the hospital.
But this? This is your reminder that sometimes, simple and consistent care really works.
Be honest… would you have handled this differently?
Let’s hear it in the comments.
