🌙 Breathwork Series Part 3: The 4-7-8 Breath
Looking for a simple way to unwind, release tension, and prepare for a restful night’s sleep?
The 4-7-8 breathing technique is a powerful relaxation tool that helps calm the nervous system and gently guide the body into a state of rest.
✨ Inhale quietly through your nose for 4 counts
✨ Hold your breath for 7 counts
✨ Exhale slowly through your mouth for 8 counts
Repeat for 4 rounds.
Why it works:
💙 The extended exhale activates the parasympathetic nervous system—the body’s natural relaxation response.
💙 Helps slow the heart rate and quiet a busy mind.
💙 Reduces feelings of stress and anxiety.
💙 Encourages deeper relaxation and better sleep quality.
This is one of my favourite techniques to use before bed, after a stressful day, or anytime I need to create a sense of calm.
