May 1 marks the beginning of Fibromyalgia Awareness Month.
Fibromyalgia affects millions of people worldwide, yet it is still frequently dismissed, minimized, or misunderstood. For those living with it, fibromyalgia is far more than “just pain.” It can impact every part of daily life, including chronic widespread pain, debilitating fatigue, cognitive dysfunction (often called fibro fog), sleep disturbances, sensory sensitivities, and countless invisible challenges that many people never fully see.
Fibromyalgia Awareness Month is about breaking stigma, encouraging compassion, supporting research, and reminding those who battle this condition daily that their struggles are real and valid.
To everyone living with fibromyalgia: your pain is real, your voice matters, and you are not alone.
