For many people, holidays are not easy. Not everyone's family loves, accepts, and respects them but they must wear a smile and be polite while hiding their feelings or erasing their true selves.
Some deal with depression and loneliness or just recently lost a loved one yet feel pressured to be "cheery."
Many people are struggling financially and not sure how they will pay the heating bills or put gas in the car. Some people must work through the holidays with no break at all.
Some struggle with addiction while people try to force drinks on them while others endure the pressure to eat meat or drink booze when they don't want to. Holidays are not always great for everyone.
So rather than wish you Happy Holidays, we wish you holidays that are gentle on your soul and emotions; we wish you holidays that do not tear down your dignity or self respect; we wish you the chance to sneak away in the quiet moments in between to rest, be creative, be yourself, and be grateful for the small miracles of this life.
We wish you love, compassion, and hope for better days ahead.
Peace and Blessings,
Chris and Maya
