Atinada’ki First Touch Erasmus Plus Projesi 3. Gün öğleden sonra engelliler konusu vardı. Myrto Choranki bir mimar, doula ve tekerlekli sandalyeye bağımlı engelli 3 çocuk annesi olarak, engellilerin doğumunda ekipman ve davranış şekilleri konusunda konuşma yaptı. Birçok engelli için ekipmanlarımız yeterli. (Doğum masası, top, doğum taburesi, doğum havuzu vs. ) Bu yüzden ekipmandan çok hizmet verenlerin engelli ihtiyaçları konusunda eğitim almaları ve davranış modelleri geliştirmeleri öne çıkıyor.
Today 3rd day of First Touch Erasmus Plus Project in Athens. Myrto Choranki an architect, doula and disabled mother of three children, talked about disabled pregnants and their problems in birth. Opposite to what we generally think, most of the equipments are appropriate enough for disabled in birth. (Adjustable beds, water pools, hanging lines, birth balls, birthing stools etc) But the main problem is education of the staff and appropriate communication. Because of this communication problem, most of the doctors and midwifes think it will be traumatic to birth for disabled, they try to persuade them for an “easier cesarean” with no trauma. But with specific education and appropriate support they can give birth and most of the disabled if supported and empowered want this support.
