Το Ελληνικό Κέντρο Φωτογραφίας (ΕΚΦ) είναι μία μη κερδοσκοπική εταιρεία στο χώρο της σύγχρονης τέχνης και του πολιτισμού. Με βάση τους γενικούς προγραμματικούς του στόχους, έχει ως κεντρικό άξονα των δράσεών του την προβολή, διάδοση και προώθηση της ελληνικής φωτογραφικής παραγωγής σε εθνικό και διεθνές επίπεδο, καθώς και τη σταδιακή ανάδειξη του κοινωνικού κ
αι πολιτιστικού ρόλου που διαδραματίζει η φωτογραφική τέχνη στη σύγχρονη κοινωνία.
Πέρα από τη διοργάνωση του Athens Photo Festival (1987 έως σήμερα) που αποτελεί τον πυρήνα της δράσης του ΕΚΦ καθώς και την εκτεταμένη εκθεσιακή και επιμορφωτική του δραστηριότητα, διευρύνει τα όριά του με νέες ιδέες και προτάσεις, εναρμονισμένες στις απαιτήσεις της εποχής, δίνοντας το στίγμα του διευρυμένου ρόλου του εντός και εκτός Ελλάδας. Επικεντρώνεται στη φωτογραφία αλλά δεν εξαντλείται σε αυτήν, εντάσσοντας στο θεσμικό του πλαίσιο συγγενείς μορφές τέχνης και έκφρασης. EN/
The Hellenic Centre for Photography (HCP), is a non-profit organisation, committed to celebrating and fostering the art and profession of photography, through a diverse range of programmes and initiatives. HCP is continually evolving with the times and looks forward to expanding its network and enhancing opportunities for interaction and engagement with local and international communities. In 1987, established the International Month of Photography in Athens, the first photography biennial in Greece. In 1997, the Festival turned into an annual event held every fall. In 2008, changed its name to Athens Photo Festival (APhF) in order to reflect upon the expanding program which now embraced a wide spectrum of events that are completely in tune with today′s social and aesthetics needs. Today, HCP is considered as the most important and active non-governmental and non-profit organization in the field of photography in Greece. It continues to focus on photography, but always maintains an open institutional framework that does not exclude other related disciplines.
