In his work, Manolis uses a

wide range of healing instruments—including Tibetan singing bowls, crystal bowls, gongs, drums, the monochord, energy chimes, and more—to create a unique sound experience. Through sound baths, gong baths, and sound healing sessions, he guides participants on an inward journey of reconnection and self-discovery, helping restore a natural state of balance and harmony. Based between Chania (Crete) and Athens, Manolis offers both group and private sound healing sessions across Greece and beyond. Who is it for? Both sound baths and sound massages are suitable for anyone seeking relaxation of body and mind. They can be equally beneficial for those new to meditation as well as experienced meditators. Sound baths can be offered to groups, couples, or individuals. Benefits of a Tibetan Sound Massage

Scientific research shows that sound massages with Himalayan singing bowls can induce deep states of relaxation, enhance brain coordination and creativity, reduce stress, increase focus, and alleviate physical pain. The sounds create a safe and nurturing space, strengthening our innate vibration and restoring inner harmony. Sound massage may also support people with physical, mental, or emotional challenges by relieving stress, worry, and anxiety. Benefits include:

Brings deep relaxation
Reduces stress levels and tension
Alleviates anxiety and anger
Eases fatigue
Lowers blood pressure
Creates a calm space for self-reflection
Restores inner harmony
Releases blocked energy and tension in the body
Relieves and loosens sore muscles, tendons, joints, and ligaments
Cleanses and balances energy fields (chakras)
Reduces headaches and pain
Supports with depression
Shifts and expands awareness
Balances the autonomic nervous system (sympathetic–parasympathetic)
Improves mental clarity
Increases creativity
Assists in releasing toxins
Promotes grounding and centering

Benefits of a Sound Bath

Recent studies report that sound baths promote deep rest and relaxation, helping with stress, fatigue, and symptoms of depression. They may also support grounding, centering, and connecting with inner wisdom. According to the study Effects of Singing Bowl Sound Meditation on Mood, Tension, and Well-being: An Observational Study, sound baths can help alleviate mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety. Participants reported reduced anger, fatigue, and low mood, alongside an increased sense of spiritual well-being. Interestingly, those with no prior experience of this practice showed a greater reduction in tension compared to more experienced meditators. During a sound bath, the body and mind relax into deeper states of consciousness as brainwave activity slows. Alpha waves (8–12 Hz), linked to calmness and relaxation, and theta waves (4–8 Hz), associated with deep meditation, extreme relaxation, and light sleep, are stimulated. In the theta state, the brain becomes especially receptive. Scientists have found that alpha and theta activity is associated with reduced stress, anxiety, discomfort, and pain, while increased alpha activity may stimulate creativity, support memory, and reduce depression. Benefits include:

Brings deep relaxation
Reduces stress levels and tension
Alleviates anxiety and anger
Eases fatigue
Lowers high blood pressure
Creates a calm space for self-reflection
Restores inner harmony
Supports with depression
Shifts and expands awareness
Improves mental clarity
Increases creativity

A sound therapist can master every technique and protocol. But who are they when they hold space for you?

After 10 years of working with sound therapeutically, I’ve learned that being a good practitioner is about much more than knowledge, skills and certifications.

Presence, mindfulness, compassion, humility and self-awareness matter just as much.

And when we hold space for someone, it’s not about us. It’s about the person in front of us.

I’ve written a new article about the inner work of a sound healing practitioner, my meditation journey, and what my first teacher taught me about the importance of silence.

Sometimes the most valuable thing we can offer is simply our presence.

These are some special moments from our Sound Bath at Kapsaliana Village Hotel 🍂

One of the things I love most about living in Crete is being surrounded by nature. After the autumn and winter rains, the island comes alive, and everywhere you look there is greenery, fresh air and a sense of renewal.

Kapsaliana Village, resides just outside Rethymno, and is one of those places that instantly makes you slow down. Its history dates back to the Venetian period, when it became a metochi (estate) of Arkadi Monastery. Over the centuries, the settlement grew around the monastery’s olive mill before eventually being abandoned. Today, thanks to the remarkable restoration led by architect Myron Toupogiannis, it has been brought back to life while preserving its authentic character and timeless atmosphere…

There is something special about offering sound healing experiences in such historic places. Also being outdoors, surrounded by olive trees, listening to the wind gently moving through the leaves, the birds singing, the sound of flowing water and the cicadas, while the sounds of the singing bowls, gongs and other instruments gently weave into the natural soundscape. I also have to say that offering a sound bath in nature can sometimes be challenging. Weather conditions, wind and unexpected sounds can always play a role, but we were lucky this time, the evening was pleasant, not too hot and not too windy.

In many cases participants have told me that experiencing a sound bath in nature feels different. Part of the reason may be that our nervous system naturally responds to environments that feel safe and familiar. The sounds of birds, water and wind, together with the soothing vibrations of the instruments, can help us settle into a state of deep relaxation, allowing the mind to become quieter and the body to naturally release tension.

It was a beautiful evening, and I’m already looking forward to returning on 14 September.

Last month we completed the second level of the sound therapy training programme. Our sound therapy training doesn't just teach new techniques. It invites you to do your own inner work. Beyond the advanced sound therapy protocols, what several students told me after the seminar touched me — that the training was so deep it pushed them to confront parts of themselves they hadn't expected to encounter as part of the process.

Each level requires a minimum of 15 hours of documented practice before progressing to the next, with ongoing support throughout. You don't leave having simply attended a seminar. You leave having worked.

Dimitra and Angelika share their experience in the video — what challenged them, what shifted, and how it's already influencing the sessions they offer. The next seminar takes place in Chania on August 1st and 2nd. Full schedule via the page https://www.soundhealing.gr/training-seminars/

Last week, I was invited to offer a guided sound journey at the BeWell Movement press conference.

For this experience, I also created the visual component that accompanied the session, offering an integrated environment where sound and imagery supported a deeper state of presence and focus.

Thank you to the BeWell team for the invitation and the opportunity to contribute.

The BeWell Festival takes place on 6 & 7 June in Athens, with a programme dedicated to fitness, wellbeing, personal growth, and conscious living.
