EFIC NEWSLETTER 02 2026
WORD FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear EFIC Colleagues and Friends,
Four EFIC Pain Schools are scheduled for 2026, the first of which on multidisciplinary pain management was held in Osijek (Croatia) in March, co-organised by 5 European Chapters working closely together (Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Slovenia and Greece – bravo to them!). It will be followed this month by the course on Physical medicine for pain doctors in Larissa (Greece), and I’m glad to say that these two schools deal with topics never scheduled before, reflecting our motivation to open educational offer to new themes. We keep of course our “classical” schools on Translational pain research in Krakow, and Cancer pain management in Liverpool, respectively in June and October this year, which remain long-standing pillars of EFIC educational efforts.
Summer approaches, with its mix of end-of-academic-year hectic days, the expectation of some rest under the sun (or well away from it), and the somewhat naïve belief that the World will be in a better shape when coming back from vacation. Once again, thank you to all who have continued reading this far; to all the National Chapters that allow EFIC to be what it is, and to all my colleagues in the Office who keep alive this stimulating adventure.
With very best wishes
Luis Garcia-Larrea
President, European Pain Federation EFIC
